Hello, everyone! We’re currently in the process of installing a smoke exhaust system at a site, and we’re installing Greenheck FSD series roof fans. This is serious equipment, and we don’t want to make any mistakes during installation, especially given the strict fire safety requirements. I have a few questions regarding the proper mounting of the base and sealing of the joints. I’m trying to study the Greenheck FSD user manual to clarify the torque specifications for fasteners and the requirements for vibration isolation. Anyone who has worked closely with this brand, please advise: are there any specific nuances when connecting the power supply to this particular series?

In particular, I’m concerned about the sealing of the cable entries—do the standard gaskets hold up, or is it better to install proper seals right away so the motor doesn’t get flooded after a couple of seasons? Another important point is balancing the impeller after shipping. Do I need to perform a check on-site, or do they come perfectly balanced from the factory and can be started right away?

If it’s not a secret, are you installing this system in a production setting or for home use? As I recall, it applies to both cases for fire safety. I just happened to come across the service manual for Greenheck Fan while looking for a manual for industrial air conditioners and got a little carried away reading it. By the way, you’ll find a lot of important information there, including details on proper electrical connections. Even though you didn’t ask for my advice, I’ll still point out that having another specialist nearby is crucial—take care of yourself.
