Do Mature Personal Ads work better with retargeting

I’ve been wondering lately if retargeting really makes a difference for Mature Personal Ads, or if it’s just one of those things people talk about but don’t fully use right.

When I first started running these kinds of ads, I noticed I was getting clicks but not many actual responses. It felt like people were interested for a second, then just disappeared. I kept thinking maybe the audience wasn’t right, or maybe the creatives weren’t strong enough. But after a while, I realized most people just don’t convert the first time they see something like this.

So I tried a simple retargeting setup. Nothing too technical. Just showing ads again to people who had already clicked or visited the page. At first, I didn’t expect much, but the difference was pretty clear. The second time around, people seemed more comfortable engaging. Almost like they needed that extra reminder or familiarity before taking action.

One thing I did notice though, if you show the exact same ad again, it kind of loses impact. I had better results when I slightly changed the message. Not a full redesign, just small tweaks in wording or tone. It felt more natural and less repetitive.

I’m still testing things, but from what I’ve seen, retargeting isn’t about chasing users aggressively. It’s more about staying visible without being annoying. Timing also matters more than I thought. Showing ads too quickly again didn’t work as well as spacing them out a bit.

So yeah, if your conversions feel stuck, retargeting might be worth trying. Not in a complicated way, just something simple to remind people who already showed interest. It’s not perfect, but it definitely helped me get better results than starting fresh every time.
