Okay, this is a little strange, but consider the source 😆
The inspiration for this pic is a song that I'd never heard before, although it's apparently been around for years: "Mele Kalikimaka". It's been performed by Don Ho (of course), Bing Crosby and even Chris Isaak; I've been hearing it at the Disney-MGM Studios recorded by Jimmy Buffett (link to song at iTunes Music Store); and even though I've been hearing it several times each workday since Thanksgiving, I actually kinda like it.
"Mele Kalikimaka" is the thing to say
on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That's the island greeting that we send to you
from the land where palm trees swayHere we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
"Mele Kalikimaka" is the wise way
to say "Merry Christmas" to youDecember 24, 2005 at 2:46 am #19798jdm022ParticipantUnbelievable as usual dave. WOW! by the way, i remember Mele Kalikimaka from the best christmas movie ever…Christams Vacation with Chevy Chase. I'm sure it will be on again several times this holiday season. 😮

December 24, 2005 at 5:19 pm #19803AlexGKeymasterSanta certainly has most excellent taste in his Amazonian helpers . . . and that makes for an even merrier Christmas. 😎

~ Mark Twain / Samuel Clemens (1907)December 24, 2005 at 8:30 pm #19804FonkParticipantThat's gorgeous! Could you arrange for one of them to be in my stocking tomorrow? 😉
December 25, 2005 at 1:52 am #19805CowprobeParticipantIt's a tie between that song and James Brown's "Dance OF A Thousand Dances" for what torments my waking thoughts in a good way.
Thank you for the imagery that is quite fitting for that tune.
May you have a Merry Christmas the Hawaiian way as well 😎

Well, here in Florida we can have close to a Hawai'ian-style Christmas; we got the palm trees if you know where to look for 'em, and the temperature's supposed to be mild (low 70's), but they're saying "60% chance of rain" so we'll have to see… at least there'll be no snow! (I saw enough snow growing up in North Carolina to last my lifetime, thenkyewverymuch!)
And Merry Christmas to everybody!
PS: You sure you don't mean Wilson Pickett's "Land of a Thousand Dances"? Naaa, na na na naaa, na na na naa, na na na, na na na, na na na naaaa…
