I am curious how much muscle you think a woman can pack on w out steroids. I'm sure that a woman can gain a fair amount of muscle through hard work alone but are there examples among the women we see on body building sites. Do you think that body builders the size like Britt Miller or Cindy Phillips require steroids? I know most people say women can reach the size of a fitness competitor without drug use but even so some of them seem to have as much size as a light weight female body builder.
What about a body builder like Johanna Dejager who enters natural body building contests. Her arms are huge. Just curious what type of competitor or competitor represents the largest possibilities of a drug free physique.

Nikki Fuller
Gina Davis
Collette Nelson and
Joanna ThomasI don't think Nikki uses steroids because in one of her videos she talks, and her voice is EXTREMELY feminine.
Collette seems to have a feminine voice too but it's really hard to know who is juicing and who is not.
I think the list I wrote it MIGHT be as big as they can get without steroids, but I don't know if any on the list DO use steroids.
March 31, 2006 at 4:46 am #25397pdub13ParticipantWow, thanks, I consider all of them to be big. I luv Gina's arms. I just get curious since I like muscular women what people think is possible. I haven't ever seen a female body builder or even a fitness girl in real life, but I have seen muscular women. Maybe a girl will ride by on a bike w her tricepts bulging out and I think wow wonder how hard she works on that. Maybe alot, maybe not @ all, if not @ all how much better could she be if she lifted. I saw a waitress one time that had great arms, little peaked bicepts and a vein running down them. asked if she worked out, she said not @ all, she got that from picking up her kid. So maybe if the look was more excepted women like that would work (with weights, not a tread mill) out on top of what they are already doing and see good gains. I think society does scare women away from working out but maybe if more do people wont think that a girl w big guns has to be on drugs to get there. Thanks for the input.

Ms. DeJager has incredible genetics as well as a strong baseline (having grown up in the physical enviroment of a farm). Other women are not so fortunate but they more than make up for it in terms of dedication (as in the case of Ms. Fuller and Mrs. Zaremba).
I's have two close female friends -Tanya Zeekman & Caroline Pucklin- whom are both amateur bodybuilders.
Tanya is blesses with good genetics and a strong metabolism but she lacks dedication and thus has an enternal 'Off-season' physique whilst Caroline has poor genetics and a exceptionally fast metabolic rate but excellent will -thus making her lean but very much ripped. In the vein of late 1980's bodybuilders. Both maintain similair diets and workout rageims but 'tis Tanya with the blessed blood, so she can gain more mass and keep it longer than Caroline does.Muscle can be easy to gain, mass is the difficult part.
It's the Hand Fate dealt us which decides what we can achieve through our own means.Peace

Some of the differences may be subtle, but I guess people are adapting for what works for them. I know the basics are work hard and eat right, but then there are so many other variables, then protein shakes and supliments. It can get crazy. What works for some people may not work for you. Thanks for the input and tell your friends to keep fighting the good fight.

The problem most people face is that they merely do generic forms or exercise or standard programs and these often work against their body types. So, in the end, they make no gains, feel disheartened and end up quiting their regime, not giving any thought to changing programs or seeking a taylored form.
The same goes for fad exercises and diets -such as Taebo and Atkins.
People flock to them because they are popular without realising that such things may not be right for them or their bodies (especially Atkins) and they can end up ruining their physical health in the end.And it does get crazy with suppliments and the like.
The last time I's attended a proper gym, all I's could hear in conversation was what suppliments and protein powders people were consuming. It was almost as if it were a form of sick compotition between them all.
Most disheartened.
Especially when I's was asked what I's did use and replied: 'Nothing' and that I's prefered to use natural means (such as diet) to gain my's protein and health.
One asked: "Well, how to you expect to get big?", to which I's replied: "Who said that I's want to be big?" before walking away from the conversation. But back to the topic.
Another issue for women gaining mass through natural means is how much mass to gain and what form to take.
More emphesis for natural female compedators to become fitness or physique models and, thus, much less builkier and away from the temptations of chemical enhancements. This can put a lady at odds with what she wants -for if she wants massive muscle mass but is only shown how to train for a lean look, it can be most disheartening to them.
This a problrm within societ and most especially the sport.
You should hear how fintness/physique women speak of their bodybuilding counterparts and how degrading and vile their words can be. Especially in the view as to which form is considered 'sexier'.
Most shameful.Alas, again, I's have wondered off topic.
Forgiveness, please.
Peace

You would think that some of these professional fitness women would get the word out to other women for how to train properly. I'm sorry to hear that fitness chicks and fem body builders have beef. Especially when it seems that some of them are not too different physically. You would think they would realise that if they supported each other that their sport would probably go farther.

Yes, but the fault is that the bodybuilders are competing against the fitness/physique models for sponsorship and endorsement deals, as well as many other factors that do not usually allow them to reconcil.
Sponsorship is the reason that a few years ago you had so many women who would do very unhealthy regimes in order to compete as both figure/fitness and bodybuilders in different seasons of the same year.
Then the Sponsors cracked down on such practices -mainly because they favoured the more marketable form of the fitness models over the unique physiques of the bodybuilders.
Sadly, in this most faulted Modern Age, everything must be reduced to a transaction and account.
But such is existence.
Peace
The Pimp NeonBlackApril 4, 2006 at 3:52 pm #25403HolidayParticipantI think the later years of Ericca Kern are a good example of non-steroid achievements. But there are few who can pack in more muscle.
April 13, 2006 at 8:40 am #25404BlackKusanagiParticipantI think its great some do it without the drugs. It shows their true dedication, and the fact they dont need roids to look great. 🙂
