I have a public confession to make. I commissioned Tigersan to do some poser work for me. I had the money ready to send him upon completion but then I ran into a serious personal problem which required all the money I had. A few days later he sent the completed work. It was even better than I had hoped. I had a commission of my own in the works so I was certain I'd be able to get him what was owed plus a little extra for the wait. The guy I was doing the work for changed his mind before the project was completed so I was stuck. All the money I've been able to make since has come from my part-time job which doesn't pay much. All I get from this job is money for food and rent. I have spent no money on fun things in over year. I haven't even gone to the movies since Alien Vs Predator was new. Tigersan is getting very upset that I have been unable to pay him as he as every right to but I just don't have it. I just wanted to share this before he had the chance to make me sound like a cheat. A cheat would not have had any intention on paying him. I did. I'm just in a real fix right now. The first extra money I make will go to paying Tigersan. I'm starting a new job next week so it should not be long now. Tigersan, I sincerely apologize. I'll throw in another $50 for the wait.

I's too know what it is like to exist day to day on what meagre moneys that you have.
I's have also spent several years literially begging to survive on the streets.
So there is no shame in what you do post.
I's do hope your situation improves and all debts can be paid by all parties.Peace

Not being paid at all is also far more common then one would assume. After a while even the most heart wrenching reasons for being late loose their ability to persuade. The irony is that as the number of late and/or non payments add up the likelihood that Tigersan will loose interest in commissions increases. Out of curiosity how much money do you owe Tigersan?
May 7, 2006 at 11:36 pm #27969AnonymousGuest$100. I have every intention to pay him. It might even be in a week. I'm starting a new job which should pay well enough for me to send him a check plus some extra for the wait. I'm waiting on $300 in commission payments myself so I know how he feels.
May 10, 2006 at 7:14 pm #27970FettParticipantI'm worse. I still haven't finished a commission I owe Kid Komix and that's been like, two years. And he paid me.
I still have all the sketches, and I keep meaning to finish it up, but I just never seem to have the time. I have every intention of finishing it… but I don't know why its not done yet. I don't even have a good excuse.
So, I'm worse than you.

You and I are in the same boat… I'm sitting on a commission that I've been diddling at for two years (or more). That's why I'm very reluctant to accept new commissions.
May 10, 2006 at 10:17 pm #27972AnonymousGuestLong overdue commissions, and yet you both have time to visit web forums! Access to technology is strangling your work ethic, men! 😀

I paid. He promised a month.
2 months later I paid him a visit in a pissed off mood.
I got a dinner plate. To the nose.
Never did get that artwork.
And the surgery cost 100 dollars, even though it was just a minor cosmetic job.
Yeah. I dont like asking for comissions much these days.May 12, 2006 at 2:31 am #27975FettParticipantYeesh! What was the commission of?
