– First, you take a group/characters that are one of the pilars of your company.
-Second, you begin a story arc that might be very important to the universe your characters belong to.
-Third, you make that arc also be part of the current universe shattering event taking place in all of your titles ( the ones that sell, and the ones that don't, to boost their sales ).
-Fourth, in the middle of the story, you give a hint that in the next issue, some of the characters may die, and that anything will be the same again.
-Fith and final, you make an incredibly dull, stupid, empty, senseless, etc story that completely destroys the hopes of the fans around the world.
I strongly belive that this steps would make any comic fan actually destroy the book that they have just finished reading, go to the publishing company to demand for the writer's head, and some other body part of the editor or editors.
