Rulah was Fox Publishing House's answer to Sheena, Queen of the Jungle.  She was a daring female pilot who crashed in the jungles of Africa on an around-the-world trip and became the ruler of a tribe who worshipped her as the Jungle Goddess.  She had at least two alter egos – neither of which I can remember at the moment – which were introduced on two seperate occasions.  Her first appearance, oddly, was in one of Fox's humour titles, ALL TOP #10.  She fought with a knife, was a talented acrobat and swimmer, and she had a pet panther who saved her life on a number of occasions.  Rulah herself was a tall woman with jet black hair, who wore a bikini made out of a giraffe skin and wore her dagger in a sheath that was tied around her waist.

I just remembered that one of Rulah's alter egos was Joan Mason.  Her origin was repeated in RULAH #10(?), in which she was depicted as a millionare who crashed in the jungle during a flight around the world.  Among her other talents is the ability to wrestle huge panthers with just her dagger in hand and swing from vines like Tarzan.

Whoops!  Rulah's two alter egoes were Jane Dodge (ZOOT #7, her first appearance [ZOOT was a humour title]), and Joan Grayson (RULAH #20).  In RULAH #20, she was depicted as a female aviator who vanished on an around-the-world trip whose fiance found her in the jungle.  She rescued him, and in return he left her in the jungle because he realized she had made a home for herself there.  She fought greedy people who sought to exploit the jungle's people for their own ends – and usually succeeding.  This included several native rulers and even an albino exile with the power to kill people by touch, which left their hair and skin white after he killed them.

I have just seen Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, lift a fat man who must weigh at least 400 pounds over her head in a scanned version of JUMBO COMICS #114 at a YAHOO! group called FictionHouseFactory.

It was actually JUMBO COMICS #111.  Sorry about the mistake.

I put the Sheena posts here because the character is still under copyright – the only one of the Fiction House characters that is still under copyright – and I did not dare create a separate post because of a possible violation of copyright.

Um, explain to me how creating a separate thread concerning Sheena would be a possible violation of copyright?
