Hey Drake!
Great to see a post from you!
What is new at Sterling Comics?
Best wishes,
HunterJune 9, 2005 at 12:50 pm #4278AnonymousGuestUnfortunately, the art and publishing of the comic costs money, which, these days, I do not have. Therefor, even though I have completed the art for 12 additional issues of Pure Growth, I cannot afford to publish them. I wish I could but until sales improve, there just will not be more issues. **sigh** 😥

Making each issue of "Pure Growth" available as a downloadable file would almost eliminate overhead costs. A customer could mail you a check or use PayPal or similar to remit payment to you. You could then e-mail the customer the file(s).
I understand that some artists feel that using such a medium to deliver their work might increase the risk of piracy. However, since so many folks now have ready access to scanners and graphics programs, the risk is probably not much greater than using a paper and snail mail delivery system. Some graphics programs would also allow you to imbue your work with a watermark or similar.
Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best!
Tschuss!
HunterJune 10, 2005 at 2:07 am #4280AnonymousGuestCan I just add that as a potential customer, I wouldn’t be able to order printed versions of the comics, but I would be very happy to pay for electronic versions of them..
I can’t risk the danger of things delivered to my house being opened by the wrong people, and have been hoping that you would do jpg versions of your comics for a few years now.
I hope you can find a way to do this – I think you’ll find a lot of other people feel similarly. Just look at how business for LH-Art has taken off with the addition of online subscriptions and online versions of stories.

July 11, 2005 at 8:59 pm #4283AnonymousGuestI love your comics and am more than willing to pay good money for them. However, I need to open a PO box every time I order them by mail (for the same reasons described by random101.) This is quite a hassle to go through just to buy a few comics, so that I am not able to buy them very often. Also, I like instant gratification. Waiting for comics to arrive in the mail makes me very cranky indeed. 🙂
I would definitelly buy more of your comics if you established some form of electronic distribution. Heck, if you made them downloadable tomorrow, I’d probably buy all the issues I don’t already own.
Thanks for all your hard work.
