UK Meet-up in 2007!

    I met up with Kulli/Syberstyk for a meal a while ago and it got me thinking about organising a meet-up for anyone in the UK some time in 2007.  I was a bit scared about meeting someone in real life to discuss femuscle, but it was a really cool and liberating experience that I recommend to everyone. 

    If there's a few people interested we could get together for a drink or a meal, or perhaps all meet at a travel lodge for an overnight stay and go for a meal from there or something?

    Since travel and time could be a problem for people maybe we could even just arrange to all be on the chat at a particular time and get to know each other a bit and take it from there?

    Any thoughts?

    Where abouts and when in the UK. I will be sooo new to the area, that I would like to do this and possibly make some new friends.

    Hi Rachel,

    Thanks for responding.  It should be cool to all get together some time. 

    Time and place are flexible and I'm just trying to get a sense of who's up for it, where they are in the country and how far they can travel etc.

    So far there's 3 of us plus yourself.  2 of us are in the North West and one is South East of London so the geography's already working in our favour!

    Where in the UK are you?  Probably best to work on location first and then time, but some time in the first half of 2007 most likely.  Drop me an email and I'll get a distribution list together.

    This sounds like it could be a really great idea. It sounds as tho' a place somewhere in the middle of the country could be a good central place to meet …I am an Essex lad

    Heh!  Well, this invitation is of course open to our international brethren, although I think they'd have to be pretty insanely dedicated to travel the globe just to meet with us somewhat backward Brits.  (We'v only had four channel TV until very recently!)

    I could be up for this, depending on when and where!

    I’ve found that here in the USA the best place to meet people from around the country and the occasional international guest is at a major comic book convention. It might prove worth while to make this UK meeting take place at convention that way the people involved have a stronger reason to travel. If no one shows up they still get to hang out at the convention and see the sights.
