Yesterday I did some research for a story I'm hoping to write.

    I bought – and ate – a can of spinach. ;D

Have any of you done some research for a story? Tell us your tales! 😉

Well, I decided to write a story based on the Hulk and exposed myself to radiation. So far, being the Hulk isn't as exciting, or healthy, as I had hoped.

    I'm green though.

I do not have a scientific background and that might help explain my appreciation for the science angle for female growth.  As a result, I find myself in the library reading/slogging through medical and anatomy books from time to time while writing.
However, I've never been dedicated enough to actually try to eat a can of spinach.  🙂

Truth is, most times, I do much of my "research" BEFORE I concoct a story idea or plotline.  I do that by reading a lot, particularly Time, Newsweek, and even Reader's Digest.  That helped quite a bit in the political and scientific angles, particularly with Power Play

I also had to do quite a bit of checking and double checking with CowProbe and DCM… and I learned quite a bit about Dyna, the Damsel Dynamo when I put my little fan-fictions together.  Learning about Mezaros and getting info on their take on Aries was also quite a trip.

Much of my writing, though, comes from that little known reference material known as… daily life.  A lot of what I've written my characters do were based on some of my own experiences.  Someone once said that one actual live person should have lived enough of life to be able to flesh out up to six characters in a story on that alone.  Happily, I think I've been able to beat that.

And there's been the occasional ripping off homage to notable quotables written in this forum.

I must admit though… I've never eaten my way into research.  I mean… CANNED spinach?  Phleaugh. X-P  Make mine either fresh or frozen.
