So many people hate it.. what's the point in the point, if it makes majority of people hate the day? It makes so many people feel like shit.

Actually I saw some polls that showed a lot of people actually enjoy valentine's day, I'm one of them but I don't really do anything special for that day.  Ah well!

Well it's pointless. It's very existance is to point out who has somewbody and who doesn't, and make those who don't feel like shit.
It's also pointless because it's like saying you MUST think about love on this day. Why this day? Wouldn't it be more special on your OWN day?

Scrooge? Didn't you change your mind at the end of the book? 😛

I do mostly agree, but I think it's a good idea to have a day where people should make some effort with their relationships. I suppose it's up to couples themselves to decide what they should do with it.

SyberStyk makes some hella good points, though! 😉

It's just another day.  I got a sandwich from Subway for dinner yesterday and the guy behind the counter brightly asked me if I was enjoying the day.  I was like, "well, it's bitter cold and heavily snowing outside…everyone else gets a day off, but I've got to stick around and keep working through the evening.  What's so great about it?"  Dude replied, "It's Valentine's Day!"  Like that was somehow a reason for the day to be extra-awesome-super-shiny-happy.  I find the best response is to smile and ignore people with that attitude…in the end, it's just not worth the energy to get worked up about it (both the people like that, and the day itself).
