And you're off to a good start. Now since you asked, and I having been known to have some talent in GTS collaging . . . 😉
Don't know what package you're using, I presume Photoshop or perhaps Paint Shop Pro, but in any case a couple of things stand immediately out. I'm assuming you used the Soften tool to blend in the edges. You might do better to lasso your cutout, inverse it and expand the marquee 1-3 pixels, then use Gaussian Blur at a very low setting. This will feather the edge of your cutout with a finer, less obvious blending. Second thing that stands out, the sharper background as compared to the softer forground cutout – its a result of the difference in pixel resolutions. Since she is the primary focus of the viewer (POV) you need to reverse this effect. Either sharpen the object of interest and/or gradually soften the background with a general Blur, Soften or my preferred format using Gaussian Blur (cuz it can be set by increments).
At this point I think that's enough for you to work with. Shadows and Airbrushing later. 8)
