AlexGKeymasterThis is mainly directed at the GTS fans that might not be aware of it (heck, I only found out this morning) but I thought I would pass along the news that Ozmodium plans to be closing the http://www.giantess.com website and forums (which also means the growth story, pictures and video-clip archives will be gone, too.)
It will remain open until Dec 15, 2007 – so you have until then to use up your d/l points.
There's a lenghy thread posted announcing this on the Forum Enhancements page – kinda hard to miss it, its the only one w/ a red colored header.

I don't suppose there's any reason I can't post Oz's post here – I still have my "halo" as a member with extraordinary standing over there. (He has a thing for my femuscular GTS collages. 😉 )
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
If memory serves… in colonial America, the original plan for Senators was to have an ordinary citizen step up to being a senator and serve the people for a time. When his time was up, he was to go back to being a normal citizen and once again take up the plow in his field.
It is time for me to return to my field.
For the past six or so years, I have taken it upon myself to step up to the duty of serving my fellow giantess enthusiasts. I have made it my mission to gather, to create and to help those who have the gift. I have, daily, approved images and videos, tweaked things, added things and kept things running.
It is my hope that people are a bit more united now, they believe this is slightly less weird, and know that there are others out there like them.
There have certainly been bumps in the road – bumps that have hopefully made me wiser. Some of the bumps have just shocked me, some have not. Know that it has always been my goal to well, just help, in the ways I knew best. Hopefully, I made you smile once in a while. Hopefully, a little add-on I created made you say "cool!," and, hopefully you found it comforting to find http://www.giantess.com exactly where you left it, always up, always running, for six years.
We were the first and only site to have a point system, the first to have a slot machine based on avatars, the only site with a custom auction area strictly for giantess stuff, and the list goes on.
However, I was certainly not the first to create a giantess site, nor will I be the last. Perhaps someone else will step up and serve the community as I have.
I never wanted to make money at this, and I was very successful at that goal, as each month was really an exercise in futility. Most of that was because people don't really want to hand over money for things that are readily available, or things that shouldn't (in their perception) cost money. The main driving factor for lack of profits (or even breaking even) was due to the fact that I simply would not charge money for other peoples works. That's not what this was about for me.
So, thank you to all the artists, writers, collagers and video makers who helped to make this dream real.
Thank you to those members who understood that they were not entitled to this, but were happily welcome along for the ride. Thank you to those people who treated Giantess.com like a home, and not a random, canned forum system (and thus treated me like the homeowner) – your respect was touching and all too rare among the masses.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the contests; they were a lot of fun for me, stories, collages, etc.
Thank you to those who also got a kick out of the Enigmas I created. It made me feel ever so slightly smarter when people got what I was trying to convey.
Thank you to those who stepped up to the challenge of being a moderator, all of you. I know in the last couple years you didn't have a whole heck of a lot to do, but your efforts have always been appreciated.
Thank you to my wife, who came here to understand and exposed herself to all manner of … people. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone sane to do the same with their spouse. Good God, no!! Turn back now! On the plus side, she now has a giant shopping buddy. 🙂
We have accomplished some very impressive things together – things that I would have never imagined possible.
We have had two Gatherings of giantess members, albeit small ones, but nonetheless interesting. The phrase "Perception Gift" has been, hopefully, thoroughly ingrained in the minds and vocabulary of enthusiasts like you.
Giantess.com started with a very humble beginning, but a very big promise – to be "the center of the giantess universe, on and off the web." Well, it certainly was for me.
Giantess.com will officially close its beautifully ornate, massive oak inlaid platinum doors on December 15th. I will turn off the cc:Bill button at the end of November so that there is no confusion or frustration over buying points and not having a site to use them on. It will remain on until the end of the month, to gather contributions for the charity drive. Speaking of that, the goal remains at $1,000 – a goal I will help to reach when we get close to the very end of the month. The Cafe Press store will remain open for some time.
For the record, my goal next year was to welcome Shrinking Violet, Amazon Kitty and Trekg13 as new moderators. I thought they should know.
Thanks for putting up with me.
I will miss giantess.com.
Side note: One thing is up in the air – I am not sure if I will leave the blog area up; that one area may remain. If so, I will modify it so that users can still "log in" and continue to update their blogs. Again, unsure.
Needless to say, its going to be a huge loss to the community in archived GTS stories (1492) and if you're into vid-clips (1982) – not to mention artworks, comic scans and collages (29064).
