The search box in the left column now uses Google's index instead of the Amaz0ns Forum index. It was affecting site performance too severely, so I pulled it. The site should run faster and more reliably now.
Users can still access site search and advanced options through the "Search" link in the top left vertical menu.

Thanks for notifying us. 😉
Thanks. It seems to have worked too.

Yeah, I did several things last month to improve performance, and I also made some requests of my host provider to make some changes. All told, the site is running a lot faster and crashes much less often, so I'm happy with it.
With the final release candidate for Joomla 1.5 being debugged right now, I'm planning to upgrade the whole site sometime around mid-January. There may be some radical changes to how things are arranged. I know some people get annoyed that I move things around as much as I do, but one of the major benefits I get from running Amaz0ns is that it's a laboratory for me to experiment with what works.
