American Gladiators….the cartoon?

    January 18, 2008 – American Gladiators is back in a big way. The revival of the early 90s hit has scored big ratings for NBC, leading to a quick renewal for a second season. But that's not all, as MGM, who produces the show, have many other plans for the American Gladiators brand. That includes the launch of americangladiators.com on January 28th, which will feature clips of the original series which have all been re-digitalized. Clips will reintroduce original Gladiators and give fans an update on where they are today. Featured segments will also include "best hits," and stunts performed on the vintage show.

    There will also be an American Gladiators U.S. cross-city tour, presumably featuring some of the current gladiators.

    On top of all that, MGM and Johnny Ferraro, owner of Flor-Jon, Films Inc. have put into development a cartoon series based on the American Gladiators franchise. While there is no description yet of what this series will be about, for some of us, it can't help but evoke memories of Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling and Mr. T's cartoon… not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
