I spent about 15 hours on this over the last three days but ran into numerous problems that I couldn't circumvent. Every time I fixed one, two more cropped up.
So it's back to the drawing board. Maybe next month I'll give it another try.

February 25, 2008 at 5:11 am #67622LingsterKeymasterI'm trying to turn Amaz0ns into more of a community site and less of a blog. I want the forum stuff, and new community features, to be prominently featured on the front page.
Basically, I don't have the time anymore to do so much writing for the site and need to find another way for it to work.
February 25, 2008 at 8:16 am #67623LingsterKeymasterAlright, I moved over some of the changes I was making. They were on the other server but there's no reason why they can't work here.

Cool beans. What are the kind of new community features we'd be getting? This sounds all very exciting. 🙂

Sounds great, but, if it's causing that many problems, wouldn't it be better to leave well alone and just post less on the front page?
February 26, 2008 at 5:58 am #67626phenomsParticipantI don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but before the migration and theme change I got a pop-up notification of new personal messages when using the forum. Now I only get it from the blog/top-level domain.

I click reply, but all I get is a blank page with the Amaz0ns banner and an ad banner below that. No post reply form, like I got to post on this thread.February 26, 2008 at 6:40 am #67628LingsterKeymasterIt's a memory issue. Seems like with the new design, people are visiting a lot more pages than they used to and that's dragging down the server.
Also, I optimized the server today so that pages load faster, and the double edge of that sword is that people load more pages.

There's something else going on. I'm on a different computer, from a different IP and its almost 24 hours later. I still can't post to the thread I created called "Death in a Museum" over in the Muscle Stories forum.
I click reply and get nothing but a blank page with the Amaz0ns header and ad banners across the top and down the left side. There's no form for creating a post. -
