As a regular on this forum and I like to contribute Artwork and feedback to artists and authors. But the thing that bothers me is that only about 400 people on this board have actually made at least one post. I think there needs to be a little motivation to get people to start posting. What I’m proposing is that some limited access forums be made, where the forum ranks have some importance to them. The idea that I have is that certain forums can only be accessed by certain ranks and different things would be available there. For example, newbies would be given a sketch of a drawing, tenderfoots would be given inked drawings, and site regulars and above would be given the full color image. I don’t know if this kind of thing is possible but it’s what I think would be the right way to give back to those who make an effort to contribute to this forum and give some kind of meaning to the ranks.

will increase their post count, and thats not really helping anybody at all…then who wants to go through the trouble of deleting those?…I think if anything, a post that somebody took the time to post because they wanted to, and not to get their rank up, is a good post ^_^;

I always preferred wheelbarrows full of money as motivation for myself, but this might work too.

Yeah, post spamming might be a problem. I think this idea would be a more realistic one if and when She Grew! evolves into a large scale web forum. It’s something more managable with multiple administrators and a legion of moderators. But in the end it’s all up to the mighty Lingster.
Interesting idea.

Who doesn’t prefer money? 😛
June 26, 2005 at 9:21 am #6853JimmyDimplesParticipantPfeh. What would I do with money anyway?
I mean, I’d gladly give it away for something else. 😉
Maybe if there was a reputation/karma tally for posts. Sorta like give a good score for something constructive or great, and a penalty for something that’s obnoxious or spammalicious.
(with a ban feature for really flagrant offenders.)Seeing my characters as art, though… that’d be an incentive! Maybe a sketch/ink reward system might work.

i think that would be more time than anyone is willing to invest.
it’s a good idea, but i think there aren’t as many people who share these fetishes.or at least i’m not good enough. one has to be willing to accept such a possibilty.

Well what I was implying was that it would be the same work, only certain people would be able to see it in the different stages. It was just my feeling that the people on this board who have take the time and effort to post on this board deserve to get something back. It’s just my honest opinion that people who actually contribute to this board should get something better than the low class lurkers on this forum.
June 26, 2005 at 11:29 pm #6856touristParticipantmaniac, it’s a board from lingster.
most of the people come over here from transvigor.com (that has, i don’t know a million hits a month) it’ a board where you share your fetishes not discuss about art. really. i love to have more posts, but most off the people just want to see what is delivered by a few.
face it
(you have 4 pages man!!!)
no hard feelings.
tourist (such a softie)

June 27, 2005 at 1:31 am #6858Hunter S CreekParticipantValid points, all.
Although it would be nice to see everyone contribute, I know that that is usually not the nature of people, groups, boards, etc.
If given a choice, IMHO, I’d rather that a given lurker remain as quiet as they wish until they are ready to participate/contribute.
My experience with some other boards is that prompting, prodding, or awarding points to someone for contributing quantity without regard to quality will more often than not result in something worse than the lack of participation does. Ironically, it then usually follows that if such induced contributions are eventually policed for quality, the Holier-Than-Thou’s of the given cyber micro-world ignite an off-topic crusade of self-perpetuating, self-congratulatory piling-on against the perceived "offender(s)" and we are then immersed even deeper into tangential, off-topic bilge.
Just my cynical 2 pfennigs worth.
Tschuss!
