What's with the new trend of every story in the Growth section having blatantly graphic sexual overtones?
It's getting to be a little old, to be honest.
And it's making me wonder just how many virgins/basement dwellers are lurking on this site.

Writers, whether experienced or not, tend to want to write for the people who are most likely to comment (and, preferably, comment favorably) on what they've written. Ergo, the stories cater to the audience that is most vocal- the loud-mouthed virginal fetishist crowd.
The other thing to remember is that it tends to be the younger set that actually has time to write these stories and do the art in question. I know I, personally, have a whole bunch of projects on hold simply because life has been too crazy this semester for me to get anything finished. I'm hoping that summer will prove more productive, but a lot of artists don't have even that amount of free, unstructured time available to them.
Nothing particularly profound; just my two bits.

I wonder if I may be at fault for it. The stories posted to the site used to be pretty straightforward about muscles, strength or growth. Then I posted the first Craig & Lillyia vampire story where he tries to seduce her but she turns the tables on him. I got a few good comments and it wasn't pulled by the powers-that-be.
That may have been all it took. If so, I'm sorry. :-[
May 30, 2008 at 5:34 am #71072Robert McNayParticipantOh, BTW, I'm neither a virgin or a basement dweller, I have a whole house to myself. But my computers are in the basement. 😀
May 30, 2008 at 5:37 am #71073LingsterKeymasterI don't like it either, DP, but it seems the younger generation views porn as normative. Who to blame?

Al Gore?

May 30, 2008 at 7:15 am #71075Deadly PixxxieParticipantI read just about everything that goes through that section and it's all the same old crap about women getting huge and then becoming ravenous sex monsters. It's like…apparantly, growth = libido increase.

Clearly, the women need to start out as ravenous sex monsters and then grow huge.
Muscle growth is a turn-on, so a lot of stories will be sex fantasies. To expect otherwise seems odd to me. That said, there are plenty of stories here and on DtV that don't feature sex. But none of the ones I've written.
May 30, 2008 at 9:12 am #71077ayanamifanParticipantI think he main problem is:
Write a good story, without the whole sexual stuff: You get comments, saying you wrote a good storyWrite a story involving a musclegrowing female sexmonster:
You get tons and tons of comments saying how ingenious your story is.And therefore writers might tend to write the second type more often.
The first story may even be better narrated and more creative, but it just dont gets the same response as the second.Well i have to admitt i like to read those ravenous muscle girl stories from time to time, but youre right. Its always the same and its a pitty that there are so little other stories around here.
May 30, 2008 at 12:42 pm #71078SammiChungParticipantI tend to not make so sexually explicit stories, more for the sake of trying to tell an actual story, but I admit it's easier to think in the self gratification then reader gratification of a great story, and by and by I will say this. Male Muscle Growth stories aren't free of this instant gratification by fapping or whatnot…so it is more like Ayami said…make it what the fiends want and they line up to get you nominated for a pulitzer prize and such. BtW if anyone wants to see a story I have written please feel free to check out http://fellania-bloodclaw.deviantart.com/
or my FurAffinity page http://www.furaffinity.net/user/fellaniabloodclaw/
*yes I write FURRY stories, sorry if that bothers you…but well not everyone does shakespeare*Now then, you know at the various rate…it seems to be going you really can't say our genre is always family friendly anyway considering the wide range of fetishes out there, but if you are willing to take a risk you may get rewarded later…if you're lucky.
