A Sarah Connorization of Sarah Palin the Amazon. 8)

Her inexperience and small-town way of thinking terrifies me. I dread the thought of her ever having to be President. Still, if the US dissolves into a reactionary, fundamentalist Christian state, it'll be no skin off our noses here in Europe.
October 4, 2008 at 8:50 pm #76577silentcrsParticipantFirst off, good drawing. I don't think she's really all that attractive in real life, but that picture would make her more-so (aside from the face). 🙂
That said, veering into politics, there's a large percentage of us Americans that are scared she might get some real power. She seems like a nice person, and is ok politically, but potentially becoming president? Frightening.
I like Obama, I like McCain. Not a big fan of Biden and definitely not a fan of Palin. Of the 4, she seems least fit to lead. And this is coming from someone who would've been fine with Hillary Clinton or another woman becoming president.
We shall see. America has an image problem right now that needs to be seriously corrected. *sigh*
October 4, 2008 at 8:56 pm #76578cpbell0033944ParticipantExactly. I know most here know my politics and where my personal views are. If the US goes for another R%epublican President, then so be it. At least McCain is experienced in top-level politics. To me, saying that Palin is great as a potential VP, and therefore possible President, is like saying that a Cessna pilot is fine to jump straight into flyig 747s across the Atlantic. She might be a good choice IN TIME, but not, surely, this soon. For the sake of balance, I tend to feel that Obama is not sufficiently experienced yet either. Hilary, Edwards or Paul would seem to me to be better options this time.
October 8, 2008 at 12:37 am #76579David C. MatthewsParticipantHeh. I've been toying with doing a similar type of drawing myself.
Funny that most of the same people who don't think Palin has enough experience to be President don't seem to have that same concern about Obama (who has even less executive experience than the Alaska governor)… makes me think the issue isn't experience at all…
And I haven't seen any evidence yet that a McCain – Palin administration will turn the US into a "reactionary, fundamentalist Christian state." I AM scared to death, however, that an Obama presidency, aided and abetted by a Democrat-controlled Congress and the mainstream "news" media cheerleading from the sidelines, will plunge America into a Marxist nightmare from which it may never recover.

Seriously, Sir DCM, do not fear. As a European, I can assure you that, however Marxist Obama may look to you, he really, truly, isn't.
October 8, 2008 at 2:52 am #76581ReasonParticipantThe way I see it, Palin was a strategic choice to appeal to white women voters, and I don't think she is expected to hold any real power – I mean look at the last 8 years with Bush. At any rate, it's almost worth voting for her and McCain if it means getting more artwork like this :D.
October 8, 2008 at 4:21 am #76582khuddleParticipantDave, do you seriously think Obama can do a WORSE job than the current president? Just getting rid of Bush, Cheney, and Rove will do wonders for the country and economy.
