Well guys its election day, and a momentous moment in our US history, so who do you think is going to win, and how will he affect the country?
November 4, 2008 at 10:46 pm #77622fbbfanParticipantHate to get political, but if Obama does NOT become President, I will be bummed for a long time.
The world would totally celebrate if Obama gets in there, that is very important for a lot of people. The country needs change, and Obama inspires hope. I am a minority, and seeing that man as a leader, really excites me.
And well, if McCain wins, that is what heavy drinking and medications are for, and I will partake in that if that happens.

I like to think of it like the tagline to Aliens vs. Predator: "No matter who wins, we lose."
Seriously. Today the FCC is about to make a decision on television white space that will continue to ensure the US lags in cell phone capabilities, pricing, and competition, while ensuring that broadcasters continue to wastefully spew EM garbage. I'm hard-pressed to call that a Democrat vs a Republican problem; the problems and waste and unwillingness to listen to experts rather than money is endemic to our entire political sphere.
Just as one for-instance.

Obviously moving to Canada.

Just to let you folks know, I did not write Gumby, but wrote the name of the man that is going to be our next President, there were some edits. I did not know it would offend.
It would have been more offensive had McCain won.

Viva Obama!
not that McCain isn't/wasn't a respected member of Congress, nor a US hero, or former P.O.W. but he had to know in the back of his mind… it would have taken either a supreme act of a higher authority or cruel slap to america by cheating to get elected…and with him being Republican it was indeed a very long shot.
I donot think anyone was thinking Obama wouldn't win…they wanted, needed, demanded change and they took control back at least for this election the ability to decide the fate of the country we call home.
I did like that both canidates in there final address of the night with decorum and civility..though McCain had the harder part he didn't let the rousing wave of boos disuade him from giving the concession.
Obama gave his speech, it was not one of adjulation, it was respectful, he spoke to the people, he commended his opponent even though he didn't have too, he thanked everyone, anyone, and promised to be the true "people's" president.Though I abhor politics, and I donot ascribe to the philosophy of voting…(don't ask please its a personal choice) I have told myself if Obama lives up to the hype, if he restores confidence and rights the ship…I will vote for him to remain in office next term
For those outside of the country, sighs of relief from Europe, from South America, and Canada and even some parts of Asia and Africa have at least for the moment given you the hope that Obama will lead by example, will mend the fences, right the wrongs…extend the olive branch of peace where needed. Do what is right for all, not just some..
Viva Obama!
*btw…its not fair to edit out 'bama's name or change it…I formally protest this censorship*Good Night and May (insert deity of choice) bless you

I wish that our politicians could engender such passion. I am reminded also of a John Wayne quote, in which he said that, though a particular President wasn't his choice, he had become his President, and so he hoped he would do a good job. Now is not the time for feuding, petty recriminations or silly censorship.
