I didn't know the New York Pro was happening this year. Thanks for the info!

I'm amazed at Marika Johannson's placing. I assumed she was a top five pro.

Yes, I don't know how they looked at the event (obviously), but that's the one really surprising placing for me.  Nice to see Cathy LeFrancois winning, though.

Wow…..really shocking to see many great women that are so far from being in real contest shape.

8th place and down you can see clearly that they are all very very off in their physiques.

Marika Johansson for some reason picked a god awful bikini style and color. She's very smooth, almost a bit bloated.

I'd say that at least half the list was not ready to compete at this show in the condition they are in.

Maria Segura is practically in off season shape. Not sure what the judges were thinking placing her that high. Irene Anderson at least has some vascularity.

Jennifer Sedia looks to  have very low energy. She's hardly smiling

Something is not right I think. Wonder if these girls were just off in their training

Couldn't agree with you more. What is also disturbing to me is the absolute lack of young talent in the sport — I mean, were there ANY competitors at this show under the age of 40??? The sport must doing something to bring in new talent (and gradually phase out the old).

Can I just say something?  Maria Segura's conditioning is clearly not as sharp as those above her (and I agree about Marika's bikini – awful thing), but anyone who thinks that she is almost in offseason condition doesn't really know what offseason should look like.  I know that the trend now seems to be for FBBers to stay at low bodyfat percentages year-round, but that is not healthy.  True offseason is night and day compared to how Maria looked in those photos.  That said, Cathy was in incredible shape by current standards*.

    * Those who have read my views on current judging standards know how little I think of them, however.
