One of my fav-buffed-babes **sigh** :woohoo: B)
An excerpt of her interview from the TV documentary special:
“WOMEN OVER 40: STILL CLIMBING THE HILL, NOT OVER IT”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CafQ_Y7z_ek

~ Mark Twain / Samuel Clemens (1907)February 26, 2010 at 6:38 pm #90322peterParticipantJust a great women at any age, too bad she retired, her and Gina Davis
February 27, 2010 at 1:48 am #90330DevonCoryParticipantIf I was back home with a decent PC, I’d write more. For now I’ll have to settle for : beautiful woman no matter her age. Glad she was part of the sport. She may not compete anymore but she’s still living proof that training does the body good. I’m always happy to see her.
February 27, 2010 at 3:05 am #90333AlexGKeymasterWhen she casually makes an upper body pose, her beige top tightens mesmerically. :woohoo:
As the use to say in the Old Milwaukee Beer ads: It doesn’t get any better than this. B)

February 27, 2010 at 7:21 pm #90342peterParticipantShould have an topic, where are they now fbb – video clips !??
February 28, 2010 at 2:34 am #90348ant1937ParticipantSadly, it seems to me that more and more fbbs are just doing it part time and as a hobby. The sport seems to be dying a slow death. I hope I’m wrong, but it just seems like competitor interest is dropping off fast.
I’m not sure we really know what has become of some ex-fbbs. Others are more active with things like personal training.
Nice to see Valentina. I have no idea what Gina Davis and some of the others are up to. I’d guess they just are living life without the fbb lifestyle.

I wouldn’t say hobby, rather that they’ve shifted over to a more sane and relaxed physical culturalist lifestyle vs that of the all or nothing contest oriented format, which is extremely intensive with its tunnel vision in sacrificing your existence, plagued by body destructive drug use/abuse and has very little to say for itself in any monetary payback.
It seems that contest FBBing has evolved (devolved?) into something akin what happened with fitness – the women that participate stick with the regime for only a few yrs (if even that long), then drop out. (i.e. remember Tamela Jackson? Where is she now?)
It’s just too hard on the mind and body, costs too much time and $$$ and for very little gain for so much effort – unless you’re one of the rare few that really strikes a cord w/ the fanbase (i.e. Cindy Phillips or Britt Miller). Then you might be around for a longer period of time, but nothing like it was for the women in the 80’s or early 90’s.
As an example, just go over to FTVideo – scores of FBBing women to be seen, but the majority of whom I’ve never heard of before and probably won’t show up again – just like fitness.
This doesn’t mean that there aren’t women out there that enjoy being muscular and strong, or even some that are desirous of building themselves up far larger then the (accepted) societal norm(s), but these days they’re less inclined to go in the direction of the exhibitionist circuit, instead preferring to stick to their personal goals and still have a life outside the gym environment to go with it, too.

Without new, young women who are prepared to make the necessary sacrifices, we will see neither the FBBers of tomorrow nor will we see an increase in recreational althletic women.
February 28, 2010 at 9:37 pm #90360sompanParticipantThere have always been tvo contrasting types of FBBs.
The first one is the young hopeful talent who steps on the scene with the promise of becoming “the next big thing” and “saving the sport from a slow death”. Only to become burned out after a couple of competitions and vabishing without any other trace than a mention in a few “Where are they now?” threads.
The second type is the old warhorse who somehow never gets burned out, and just keeps on competing year after year. The “staying power” of FBBs like Betty Pariso, Yaxeni Oriquen or Dayana Cadeau is making it almost impossible for the young hopefuls to place well in major competitions. Plus, being a competitive bodybuilder seems to be a fundamentally unhealthy lifestyle.
So, the muscular women will comtinue to satisfy their exhibitionist streak by mecoming internet “schmoelebrities” without even considering the competition circuit.
