But while her alter ego was a force to be reckoned with, Amy Guy looked more like a breezy beach babe during a holiday in Dubai.
The former beauty queen laughed and soaked up the sun as she frolicked in the water, looking trim and toned despite her six-months pregnant baby bump.Amy, 27, wore a yellow print bikini in Dubai, where she was a guest of British Polo Day earlier this month.
The former Miss Wales, who was undefeated as Siren in the second series of the revised Gladiator in 2008, has been concentrating her efforts on Modern Pentathlon and Polo training since the show was cancelled in 2009.But Amy, who married Jovy in Mallorca last August, isn’t putting her feet up. The energetic beauty is penning a pregnancy fitness column for Famously Fit website – on top of running her own architecture company, Amy Guy Design.
The Welsh-born athlete shot to fame in Gladiators, after originally auditioning to be a contestant on the rebooted version of the Nineties cult hit.
But the producers were so impressed by her sporting credentials that they asked Amy whether she would consider competing to become a resident Gladiator.After accepting the challenge, she spent a day in the country with 60 other contenders, whittled down from 12,000 applications, and fought for one of only six female permanent Gladiator places on offer.
‘When you are chosen, the producers give you a name and a character but you have no input on this. I was really worried they were going to make me one of the baddies and butch me up.’
Luckily for Amy, they wanted to make her even more girly and the former model became one of the most popular characters on the show.
