Before I share with you what I have done for my 1000th, let me tell you what I had planned to do.
First, it was going to be a fully-animated adaptation of pages 23 through 28 of Tetsuko #1, the growth sequence. But the thought of trying to add voices and sound effects became a bit discouraging when I realized how comparatively little time I had for getting it done.
So I changed gears: I was going to do a series of strength stunts. Just a few quick takes, of Tetsuko tying a steel bar into a knot, bending an I-beam girder, and breaking chains just simply flexing. It would have been spectacular – but then I ran into problems with a balky piece of software. (Without going into details, I bought this software specifically to do animation; I have yet to get a single usable bit of footage out of it.)
So then, I decided to fall back on a project I've been wanting to do for years: an animation of Tetsuko stopping bullets with her invulnerable body.
Rathere than try to post the inage here in this post, I'll link to its presentation at my website. Be warned, because of toplessness it's definitely NSFW:
It's a BIG animated GIF, so it might take a while to load before the animation starts running smoothly and you get the full effect.
Enjoy!
BTW: I do still plan to do the "strength stunts" animation one day.

October 18, 2007 at 12:03 am #62136AlexGKeymasterCongrats on your 1000th posting, Sir DCM!
Seems I'll have to round up another key for the executive washroom and a transwarp passcard to the cities of the Amazons for you . . . 😉

Also, I'm overjoyed to hear that you're still thinking of doing the super-strength feats animation in the future – that would be so cool too.
Thanks so much, man – you really spoil us!

October 18, 2007 at 1:12 am #62140cpbell0033944ParticipantFirst off, welcome to the Superheroes club! ;D 8)
Secondly, I just had to say WOW!!! That is a truly magnificent piece of work! Yes, even at first glance, it is obviously VERY sexy. However, what impresses me most is how it evokes everything that I admire in women of heroic proportion – the defiant look on her face, the flexed arms, the "wall of steel" abs – they all come together to express why I love Amazonic women. It's the quiet confidence, the inner strength and pride and the refusal to be what our fellow (sadly misguided) men have in the past wanted them to be; weak, defenceless and physically inferior. I'm sorry for my purple prose here, but that animation somehow hit on something deep within my psyche. 😮 8) :'( (tears of happiness and a feeling of having been touched by something very powerful).
Thank-you, and please, now that you're at the top of our tree in all respects, let's see more of the main show – the story of Tet-Chan's battle with Slade!
October 18, 2007 at 3:05 am #62141ReasonParticipantThat's some very impressive work there, Mr David Sir! You've also reignited my hope to one day see an animated version of the Tetsuko saga.!
All of your past dabblings in animation have been very promising, so who knows what you will be able to achieve with software built for the purpose. By the way, you mentioned the term "balky". I don't suppose that's Anime Studio Pro you were talking about? It has some very nice features, most notably it's rendering quality and bones feature, but it's a bitch and a half to get going with. I've been using it for several years, so let me know if you want any work flow ideas.
Congrats on the 1000th post as well.
October 18, 2007 at 3:22 am #62142Number6ParticipantCongrats on the posting milestone, and amazing job on the animation! I could watch it all day (mostly for the wobbling breasts)…
I really like "invulnerability display" aspect; it's a great method for showing how effortlessly powerful a character can be (as opposed to strength feats, which involve some amount of action), and it doesn't seem to be done too often so I'm especially grateful that you chose that format for your landmark.
Keep up the great work! -
