The same was true w/ “Young Justice” it had a one-hour intro episode on CN.
I only wonder if “Thundercats” will do any better w/ its reboot than was the case w/ the rebooted “Masters of the Universe” a few yrs back. Despite being a very good program, CN pulled the plug on it.

Off the topic a little. One old picture:

I loved Thundercats as a kid and still loved watching reruns of it on cable as an adult. It’s clear that the creators of this show did as well. In a word, it is truly fantastic! They changed enough to make it fresh, but kept the original essence. It is a lot darker, and more dramatic than the original. Snarf is cuter and not as annoying as well. I just hope it appeals to kids as much as adults who are fans of the original, otherwise it’s sure to suffer the same fate as the He-Man reboot.
It’s true that Cheetara isn’t quite as muscular as she was in the original series, but she still kicks butt like she used to! She does have quite defined shoulders and calves though, and they show some muscle definition in her arms when she is fighting.
August 2, 2011 at 9:48 pm #102463AlexGKeymasterThought it was a nice touch that the voice work for the character of Claudus was performed by Larry Kenney, who did the voice work for Lion-O in the 1985 series.
BTW – One that I’d like to see get a 2nd chance w/ a reboot would be Thundarr the Barbarian . . . B)

The show so far is pretty awesome. At first I thought it was supposed to be a Zelda-esque sequel to original Thundercats (same names by coincidence/fate for heroes, but the same Mumm-ra), but that last episode makes it seem more like a Gurren Lagann setting of rediscovering a lost past full of technology.
I mean maybe it can still fit in if that’s their intention, as the flashback was “millenia” ago.
But yes, thoroughly enjoying it. Had a Sword of Omens as a kid, and the new toy of it is infinitely better so may have to get it for shits and giggles.
