Used to get looks when I would walk through Chester and held hands with my ex. Gasps usually when we kissed xD

Nice to see I'm not alone!  😉

Imagine the responses you would've gotten had you been two men.  :-[

It's so sad that people feel a need to inflict their own emotionally bankrupt views on anybody who does conform to their particular brand of love, whether 'straight' or 'gay'.

What about two guys kissing in public? Same type of reaction? I'm kinda curious if anyone has seen that or heard about it in public seeing as there are girls who seem to do this.

My guess is that the pronounced exhibition of the "lesbian kiss" on TV has kinda made this more "acceptable" and common to do than the "gay kiss".

By far.  Even when I was in college (many, many moons ago), women kissing in public was considered slightly outre, but not generally something to excite comment.  If two men were to kiss, hold hands, even just hug, they were immediately subject to outraged comments and ridicule.

Y'know, it's strange, because I often do a double-take, and I really have no idea why.  It's still unusual, I suppose, although I notice it more when it's two guys.  Bleh, why am I like that? :-[ >:(

There's no reason to beat yourself for having an involuntary response to something that is outside of your social milieu. Don't fall for that.
