February 2, 2011 at 10:13 pm #98688DannyParticipantMan, I’ve never really kept up with the sport that much but reading the comments from the ladies in that post really made me feel bad.
And then I felt worse because I’ve never been to a show and may never get the chance.
FUUUUUUUUUUUU….

I first learned about it this morning while reading Alina Popa’s latest blog entry. 🙁

Well, what comes around, goes around – looks like the MBBrs are next to be marginalized by the physique divisional changes. Only fair, they were the ones that pushed through fitness, figure, and bikini on the gals starting in the 90s.

Plus the IFBB did everything to kill it. to the poor prize money to muscle size.
great job ASSHOLES!April 2, 2011 at 7:57 pm #99987ReasonParticipantI get the feeling the IFBB is pretty much at war with the Female Bodybuilding community and this Women’s Physique Division is their final solution. I’m starting to think that the future is pay per view, web-only competitions.
In any case, I think the IFBB is making a mistake. Even if the WPD is a big success and it leads to the demise of Female Bodybuilding as it currently stands, all they will have done is reset the physiques back to how they were in the late 70s, early 80s. As the women get bigger and more muscular each year, which is the natural result of such a competition, there will be nothing stopping history repeating itself, and within 10-20 years, they’ll find themselves having to think about creating another division all over again!
IMO, they are much better off keeping Female Bodybuilding alive, so competitors have somewhere to go if they get too big for WPD, otherwise the level of muscularity will just keep rising within the WPD.

great job ASSHOLES!Hmm,…the prize money&economy,huh?
The pro money is much better for the BB men than it is for the pro figure & bikini women, & always will be.
The higher ups are just doing this for control.
