You are issued your bdu’s [battle dress uniforms] and gear. You did well on your ASVAB [military aptitude test] and are pulled into a room with about 30 other people to take the DLAB [Defense Language Apitude Battery]. You get a perfect score on the DLAB and are taken in to another room with 2 other people where you take a psychological evaluation with a strong focus on morality and ethics.
You are pulled into another room containing only yourself, a Lieutenant Colonel, and an unnamed civilian in a suit. They tell you that you did very well on all of your tests. They mention that they notice that you have no family following the high jacking that led to the death of your mother and father. They mention that your complexion, build, and features are generic enough to pass for any number of ethnicities and nationalities. Finally, they mention that you have a "moral flexibility" that would lend itself well to the special kind of training they have in mind for you.
Blah blah blah – you end up getting trained as part of a covert anti-terrorism task force. You basically become a female version of James Bond meets the Punisher. You have a lot of anger towards terrorism and are extremely driven to end it at its source…
Makes for a good read, no?

They give you a couple in basic and MEPS but the real fun is once you reach active duty and prior to deployment. Good tip Strwaberry, if you go to Iraq/Afghanistan whatever dont feed the dogs. A jackass Major in my unit feed these local dogs everyday and then the low-ranking guys hadta chase them off. One day I got bit and now I can with any dog in the world, because I got the rabies shots. There now you all know my most embarassing Air Force moment.

Basically, picture the largest syringe that you can. Now, imagine a 10 penny nail as the needle. Okay, now you have half the picture. From here, imagine that the syringe is filled with a substance similar in consistency to hot glue. Finally, imagine that 10 penny nail being driven into your skin and the nurse emptying that hot liquid glue syringe into your right butt cheek.
Enjoy the sweaty and dizzying fever that immediately follows for about 30 minutes! ;o)
Also, freak offers a good tip – do not feed the animals! You should have seen the coyotes at the NTC food dump in the Mojave. They would swarm like sharks in a feeding frenzy whenever they heard a humvee approaching. To quote Elaine [in her best Australian accent], "Maybe a dingo ate your baby."

July 18, 2005 at 5:12 am #5964AnonymousGuestI don’t know how recently you two have been in boot, but they don’t give you a slurry of vaccinations anymore since they know where you’re going…they just give you what you need.
As for describing the Anthrax shot…think about it. I’m going into the Marines and if I don’t get sent to Iraq I’m going to volunteer, not to mention that I describe my muscle gain as "wanting to show off how strong I actually am." You think needles scare me? I just shrugged as I read the description…I’m really cool when it comes to needles, and I learned at MEPS that if I watch it going in it doesn’t hurt because there’s no stabbing surprise that I’m waiting for. 😀
I *really* liked the description that you gave…mine may have sounded a little too close to Batman. My idea (I just came up with it while driving) was this:
I’m a kid, and because of my ethnicity, my family and others like me were round up and put into camps. Then, we were all shot, but I managed to get out. I ran to the police station, only to learn that the people that killed my family and other prisoners were corrupt officials, and that the cops refused to do anything about it (scared, paid off, what have you). This pushed me to become as strong as I could, emotionally and physically, so I could never have this happen again. I would basically be taking down government officials, and then branch off to corrupt officials of other countries. Basically, I’d be a, well, you said it: James Bond meets Punisher, with Punisher more at the beginning. I like your way, though, it makes more sense and is more realistic. I hate to use it because I don’t want to make it sound like I’m jacking your idea, so I’ll credit you. 😀

That’s so true. I always thought that if I were a super hero, that would be my kryptonite.
