and decided to commission him. His process was a little different than other artists I've worked with, and he just generates a final drawing without any sketches or progress pics. What impresses me is not just that he did that without a series of preliminary or draft sketches, but that it's also different from his normal style (extremely large muscles and breasts, and cel-shading instead of softer color transitions). Then again, most artists who develop a unique style do so only after many years of learning the basics. Still, it's impressive and a nice addition to your gallery of commissions, Ed.
Akiko Daimon by Kasai clean sketch and work-in-progress.
I decided to commission Kasai after seeing his rendition of Chun-Li. He turned around and gave me the progress pic and the completed pic in just a day or two. I was shocked at how fast it came back. It's good quality stuff too.
Yes, it's another commissioned work of my favorite game gal, Akiko Daimon! When S20K00Y posted on his journal that he was going to offer commissions, I knew I had to take him up on his offer. He has an awesome picture of a topless Akiko Daimon in his gallery, so he was already familiar with the character. His style is just so unique and well-suited for drawing anime characters, I was anxious to see what the final product would look like. It's beautiful, don't you think?
The original art that he submitted is available in scraps section as Akiko by Liquidxlead WIP. I cleaned up the original sketch a little, got rid of some lines, changed the background, and tweaked the flexed arm which I felt was a little off. I don't often touch-up artwork that I commission, but I think the changes improve the piece. Hope you like it. If you're looking for an artist, I recommend checking out Liquidxlead.
