Not necessarily.  The Boston Herald and other papers are saying that the Police are unsure as to whether that was what happened, or whether a third party was responsible.  Looks like we have a wait to understand what went wrong in this ghastly case. 🙁

That Dallas News report from earlier this year linked in the MD forum http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/crime/stories/042508dnmetsteroids.1bf9157.html makes it seem that he was in up to his neck.  It's a testiment to the power of love that Amanda stayed with this fool in the way that she did.  Sadly, it seems to have been a fatal error. :'( :'(

This is so horrible! The past few weeks have been wrought with so much tragedy. And now bodybuilding and fitness loses a stunning woman like her. This is terrible!

I'm interested to see what happens with this.

the initial reports say that Jacobs shot Amanda then himself. Yet these last two articles imply that they may have been shot by a third party.

While Jacobs had motive to kill Amanda considering his financial and carerr problems…it is also possible this was the work of others.

For now let's all try and keep an open mind…innocent until proven guilty or otherwise.

It is a sad thing to see anyone murdered. Also sad to see someone accused and blamed for something they did not do because others assume and jump to conclusions

It seems like every article is saying something else, but they seem to be constant on one thing: An innocent woman's life was taken away.  🙁

Nice looking girl. Jacobs had just testified to the NFL and given some names. He was busted in 07 for dealing roids and HGH and they had a kid together. His money was from ripping people off with bogus roids and HGH from what you read.

This is an awful tragedy, but quite similar to many others we've seen. The girls get involved with the roid dealer and they are really cracking down now. This isn't 6 years ago. The task forces are real big. He had no money and nothing to live for. There are other fbbs that still stnad by guys whom I know sell this stuff. Be careful.

I am in no way blaming her….just saying we've seen this before and likely will see it again. The feds are really after these guys now. Baseball is on pace to see one thousand less homers than 2 years ago. Think about that and the money involved. You don't want to be a dealer now.

I wasn't aware of the lessening standard of strength-related performance in baseball, as I know next-to-nothing about it.  Just shows what happens when a sport that's ridden with steroids cleans-up.  I expect to see something similar happen in athletics soon.

As for Amanda, I agree with the sentiment expressed that we should wait for concrete news.  I was one who, on reading the confident statements on the MD forum, jumped to the conclusion that Jacobs did it.  It was an honest mistake, and I now have a more open mind.  All I will say, though, is that, had she not been scared of the guy, then she would still be alive today, irrespective of whether he or someoneelse pulled the trigger.

Apparently, Amanda was trying to leave Jacobs as she had a bag packed. Jacobs must have gotten furious over her wanting to leave and he beat the shit out out of her, very, very badly – not only was her body racked, but the place was a wreck and there were holes punched in the wall as well as other holes indicating someone was thrown into them. She must have gotten away at one point and locked herself in the bathroom as the door to it was kicked in. That accounts for five of the six shots fired. One was obviously a discharge that probably went off during the struggle.

It is a murder/suicide and that is what the report will say when it eventually comes out. There are many more smaller details that will also come out that might surprise some of you. For right now, the cursory description I just gave will have to suffice. I'm sure we will pick this apart some more on NBR Monday night.

Obviously, as I said earlier, this is just speculation, and we should not take this as gospel truth…however, it does seem credible.  If, and I repeat IF this is correct or fairly near to being so, then it highlights the dangers of domestic violence even to a woman who one could think of as being less vulbnerable due to her strength.  Sadly, it would appear that this may not have been the case. :'(
