    Amaz0ns may be down for part of the upcoming week to move to a new server and prepare for some not-small changes.  So if you see a redirect screen or experience any service interruptions, worry not.

    @Devon – I tried this in February 2008 but failed.  I wound up having to back out all the changes because it wouldn't function.  The site was down for three days and when I reopened the only thing that had changed was the template, which is the same one we have now. 

    The goal is to implement features that make the site a bit more like Facebook or deviantART.  I won't roll them all out at once, but I will have a new forum application and an upgrade to Joomla 1.5.

    One small drawback is that everyone will probably have to do a password reset.

    Pardon if I'm asking a question with an obvious answer, but does this mean that in the future we may have user galleries and server space for uploads?

    I don't think so, we had that feature before but it really wasn't used much.  When you have things like Deviantart and all that junk, it's redundant to have to post in multiple galleries.

    Not right away.  But eventually, yes.
