Well, this sure has been one heck of a month for Amys Conquest, let me tell you. 🙂
As usual, we have updated both of our story sections for your viewing and listening enjoyment, with a ReddyHeart illustrated Amys Side Story 3, and fellow DTV author "Christa" readings of College Girl Muscle and Bully No More.
This gives us now a total of 11 illustrated and 10 audio stories on AC, bringing the dollar value of everything on our site to just under $130! ALL of which, and so much more in the coming months, is all for the taking for any artist ready, willing and able to draw one of our stories for us to post. Not only would anyone who took us up on this offer become a Free Lifetime Member, and have the ability to enjoy any of our stories, posted now and forever, anytime they like, but well also be giving them a free link to their own site or Deviant Art page in our Links section, constant advertising for them on each one of my new text stories posted on DTV (which are some of the most read on her site), as well as being first and foremost in our minds for actual Paid Artwork (which were currently doing now as well), meaning well be reaching into our already existing pool of artists on our AC Team first, before looking elsewhere.
All of the above, and more, is for the taking for any artist up for drawing one of the stories in my DTM Bookshelf. Whats "MORE", you ask, well read on fellow Amazon fans. 🙂
Were pleased to announce that next months story will be the classic One Lucky Man, fully drawn and completely illustrated by the one and only Matt (who previously worked with us on Like Mother Like Daughter). Were also pleased to have the Uber FBB Artists Extraordinate AOS jump in and join our AC Team with his take of my Americas Next Top Amazon series, which is very possibly going to continue, with Your Help readers! So interested in voting on who is to be removed from the ANTA house next, well get on down there and do so; after which time a story will be created based off of who You All want out (any fan of TVs Americas Next Top Model have got to check this series out). 🙂
And lastly, but Definately not leastly, we have fellow Amaz0ns.com artists redsilver agreeing to take advantage of our offer and share his incredible skills on Wrong Number, as well as 00tree willing to share his unreal artwork on A Muggers Mistake. We honestly could not be happier working with them both, and know that after their first initial story (granting them all that we have to offer above), that well be looking forward to working with them for paid commissions down the track as well.
And if all of the above new news and coming soon info wasnt enough, were also looking forward to working with SinDD, who is also up for joining our AC Team, as well as us getting an Amazon Art Folio set up for sale, full of originally drawn FBB artwork just for this, all virtually unseen before, all in full page view, all Big, Beautiful Amazons! So for this, were also looking for original single pictures from you incredible artists as well, and would be willing to trade each one for a story or two of Your Choice from our AC catalogue.
So basically, theres literally Something For Everyone here, not just now, but next month, 6 months down the line, and one year after that. 🙂
So lets hear from you all, lets see which of you will be next in joining our AC Team, and QUICK; as with as popular as our site is growing into and as many offers as such as were getting currently, this deal May not be around forever. 🙂
Thanks all.

April 5, 2008 at 10:02 pm #66423DTMParticipantWe always have ayanamifan jumping in and taking advantage of our incredible offer, lending his amazing illustrations to our classic College Girl Muscle story, as well. (I did say it was a busy month, didnt I?) 🙂

April 6, 2008 at 2:22 am #66425AnonymousGuestHey what's up?
It's been a while since I've been here and this topic caught my eye.
I myself would like to get into drawing comics, which I hope to do soon. Your offer is good but bad for artists. Sometimes a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous.
Now industry standards for comics is 22 pages in 21 days. Which ends up amounting to 10 hour days 5 -6 days a week. Pretty crazy. In house artists are paid salary while freelancers are paid per page. That can range anywhere from $100- $250 USD.
But all this fbb art is exclusive to a smaller number of people. So offering half that is still costly. Offering $30 per page isn't too bad. If an artist wants to make a name for themselves and get publicity that is a good way. There is actually nothing wrong with working for free.
However, time is money and an artist should value their time and their work. For any reason your website closes then the benefits are gone to the artist. If your site blows up beyond anybodies expectations then your laughing and all the artist gets would be some attention.
So I would like to ask; do you use contracts to protect your self and the artist?
April 6, 2008 at 2:43 am #66426DTMParticipantWell first off, thanks for the reply, as were always more than up for speaking to anyone about anything we can regarding this offer and our site.
Let me say that I think you may be confusing our illustrated stories with actual completely drawn, wall to wall pictured, comic books (which Ive been collecting for the past 20 years now) 🙂 The artwork were looking for isnt panel to panel, every inch covered in illustrations, were more looking for just various assorted pictures that we can place throughout already written up texted Amazon stories, to give it an illustrated look and feel (kinda like what LH-Art has been doing for sometime now).
So basically what were looking for here is anywhere from 10 – 15 pictures, depending on the story, which we can go over with and help set up (were really very friendly people :)), offering in return Full Lifetime Access to our site, now and forever, in addition to the various plugs and links for such artists therein (and eslewhere, such as on DTV), as well as allowing them to be chosen first for future stories, which would be for a paid commission at a very fair rate.
As for the closing of our site, well that just aint happening. 🙂 And even if it did (which its not, because we have ALOT of things already set in motion) such artists would already get the $130 worth of stories that are already on the site (which they can claim as soon as their story is done, no matter when its actually posted), which is a dollar amount that is literally growing each and every month.
So this month its $130, next month it could be $150, the month after that $170, all of which they will have access to and be able to enjoy (downloaded to their PC, meaning once they have it, they have it) for as long as they want. Add in the continual advertising for their artwork on our Links Section and on every one of my new text stories for DTV (which again get read by Alot of people), and the first chance option for paid commissioned work thereafter (as weve already done with ReddyHeart and Matt), then overall our offer really becomes quite valauble (especially since were offering this for B&W artworks, not colored, meaning an easier time for such artists).
Weve dealt with and are currently dealing with several incredible artists from Amaz0ns.com and Deviant Art who have taken us up on this offer already, and those that have finished and have claimed their payment have walked away very happy with what they received, to say the least. 🙂
April 6, 2008 at 4:50 am #66427silentcrsParticipantFemxman, just to elaborate further on your specific question (regarding contracts), we negotiate deals with each artist for each specific story in writing (usually email, as it's the easiest method).
* Some artists get paid a traditional commission (which is competitive with what LHArt offers, for example). As the site has grown we have been leaning more towards this business model.
* Some artists produce a small number of drawings (usually in the neighborhood of 10-15 line drawings, as DTM mentioned) and get full access to the site. They also get advertising on the site and in DTM's stories.
* Some artists produce 1-2 drawings and are provided access to certain sections of the site.In each case, we work out the deal with the artist ahead of time and ensure that everyone knows their obligations — on our side (either paying the artist, providing advertising in new DTM stories, etc) and on their side (producing pictures by a certain time, meeting certain standards for size and detail, etc). The artist is aware (as DTM mentioned) that they can download any of the content from the site once they have access (in case the site "blows up" — which is unlikely). They also are aware that we're going to advertise their work in new DTM stories — obviously, if DTM stops writing (god forbid), we can't advertise for them using that method anymore. 😛
As DTM also mentioned, we have gone back to a number of artists that have provided us free drawings and requested they work for us on commission. Actually, we've done this for over half of the artists. If we feel what has been produced is of high quality (and it usually is) we have no qualms coming back to the artist and offering money for more work.
We've been trying to model the "free access" program on a similar program offered by Kandor at Kandor.net. There, Kandor offers one month's free access to people who write stories he uses on the site (http://www.kandor.net/menu/authors.htm). We go a little farther by giving lifetime access, advertising their work, etc. It's a nice bonus for people that would like access to the site, want to see their work shown to more people, etc.
So, in summary, yes, there are contracts. However, a good number of them end up being "You draw for us and we pay you X" (the traditional model). The "free access" offer is available, though, to those who'd like to partake, and both sides know fully the obligations before starting. In almost all cases, we try to continue the relationship further after that initial story.
