I know its a tad late (though not for some markets) mostly because I had no idea how far they were going to go today…not to mention I don't watch the show due to how ruined it is, but this and next week's episode of the anime "One Piece" includes a villainess you may want to know about. Her name is Miss Monday, an agent in the "assasination organization" Baroque Works, and she's this very…well…interesting looking muscle woman. (She looks huge, yet acts like a girl and has a face similar to a man…then again, they usually do portray muscle girls as masculine looking in some manga/anime) While she is not in the anime for too long (then again, she's only in Vol. 12 and 13 of the One Piece manga…which we won't get to for a while since SJ just started Arlong Park), I just want to give you a bit of a heads up for those that get One Piece on Sunday instead of Saturday (or for those that want to wait for Cartoon Network's airing of the show) But I do warn you: 4Kids have hacked the anime to shreads from its original form…and they gave Miss Monday a male voice.
BTW: There's a slight FMG scene much later in the series, but we'll get to Miss Doublefinger another time.
(Heh..and this is me wishing we could have a Shulkie pic of her dressed up like Miss Monday)
July 31, 2005 at 2:44 am #9076LingsterKeymasterThe idea here is that you tell people when things are going to be on TV.
July 31, 2005 at 2:53 am #9077ataru320ParticipantSorry about that…well its on at 10:30 tomorrow in some markets and this morning on other markets…and next Saturday/Sunday too. Just look for a Fox Box affiliate…..
(I'm not really that good with this sort of thing)
July 31, 2005 at 3:05 am #9078LingsterKeymasterI still have no idea a) what the show is called, b) what network it's on, c) what country or region it's playing in, or d) whether the time is in the AM or the PM.
That's what we need to know here.

Well, he did say the name of the show was One Piece… and I gather that it plays on the Fox network's kidvid block "Fox Box" and on Cartoon Network. (I think I have caught a couple of episodes.)
That said… I think I'll pass. As he said, most times anime tries to do a muscular woman, they come up with a character that looks like a man with tits. (Can I use that word? let me check… yes, I can use the word "man".)

and following pages for the up-to-mention masculine woman. (It's not too bad.)August 1, 2005 at 2:07 am #9081fasolaParticipantMan, those japanesse guys just don't know how to draw a muscular female
(saving ofcourse sky, atelier, and all the ones at the late mighty muscles explosion)

Don't forget Y. Yoshida at Earth Color!
Trouble is, none of these artists are actually in the anime business! (Or if they are, they're not being allowed to express themselves adequately.)
August 1, 2005 at 9:51 pm #9084ataru320ParticipantFor starters, I would like to apologize for not following the rules enough for putting something up on this board in the first place. I know I should have put up more stuff, but I was a bit apprehensive in doing so.
Secondly, I would love to say that One Piece…well, the original manga, is one of my favorite series out there because of the weird and wild stuff that the manga-ka, Eiichirou Oda, pulls while having a lot of great battles and characters. But I guess a bit more of my apprehension about putting up the sighting for Miss Monday is partially because of the weird design of her character (she looks like a cross of a little girl and a full grown man) and is because of the typical feelings muscle women get in anime/manga: they're too masculine to be depicted cute. Sure DC Matthews and many others have made excellent muscle girls that combine the best of cute and power, but I guess its not really a mainstream thing there.
BTW: I do admit though that they did get that muscle woman in "Rune Soldier Louie" right though…but that's another show and for another time.
