ParticipantYou are trapped in terms of Americanisms.
Geeks, Jocks and so forth are all mere social constructions and have no bearing on the true Reality of Being. Of course they are those whom do fall within sterotypes and those who fall without, crossover and defy all explanation and classification. That is condition of Humanity. In my's vast and varied experience, fans of female bodybuilders and all and every form of muscular women come from every race, religion, creed, background, social construction and conditioning and myriad other forms of existance.
As with all tastes, attractions and fetishes: there is no one type of being whom can be singled out as a core group.
As mentioned before, since this is the Cyber Space Realms, it is more likely to attract those falsely classified as 'Geeks', though that is not total truth.
We do have many varied creatures here.
One would not call dear Kulli a geek, would you?
And I's my's self am as far from Geekdom as it is considered possible. By all classifation (using Americanisms) I's am unto a 'Freak', though I's do prefer the classing "Acedemic Thug" as has been perscribed to I by others. This is merely my's opinion on the matter and not in part any Truth.
Peace

ParticipantYou say geek like it's a bad thing. 🙄
Anyway, I think that it is a rediculous, although not entirely unfounded notion that jocks and geeks are incompatable outside of the bully/victim relationship. I actually know some couples that are as drastically different from each other as it is possible to be. In high school, I actually knew some couples that surpassed the normal social boundaries between the two groups. Regardless, it all comes down to individual preferences.
There are also faults found in the definition of "jock" and "geek". By socially accepted definition, those who are athletic are jocks, and those that possess an "unhealthy" interest in something non-athletic are considered "geeks". Even these seemingly clear-cut definitions are not perfect. I have purposely disassociated myself with any social group while in high school, so I was able to make friends whereever I wanted in the social heiarchy of schools. I had friends that were considered geeks and jocks. One of the jock friends that I have plays Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering. They are trading card games that are often (if not constantly) deemed geeky activities. I also have a friend that is considered a geek, but he looks like a professional bodybuilder.
As such, I would not neccessarily call anyone here a geek. Forums and groups like this serve as a meeting place for those who share a common interest. In this case, it happens to be, for the most part, muscular women. From what I have seen, there are even a few female members who either aspire to become physically more powerful, or already are. Some members here have the ability to appeal to the fantasies that many of us harbor inside ourselves through drawings and stories. I will say, however, that if a forum such as this is what you devote your life to (like how people will pay in excess of $7000, I kid you not, for a trading card for one of the many TCGs. not like how someone devotes their life to a job) then you may be deemed as a geek. Even then, there is no clear definition.
As I alluded to earlier, being a geek is not a bad thing. After all, we do live in the age of information. Being a computer geek is probably one of the best things that you can be right now. 😉

Speak for yourself, good sir – I carry a broadsword and prefer my chicken well roasted with plenty of stuffing as a side dish. 😉

Exactly, dear Fungo, exactly.
Thank you for saying what was indeed so unspoken.

GuestWe're not geeks. We're schmoes.
That's just wrong. I've always hated that term. It implies that we're not only weird, but stupid, and I can't abide being thought of as stupid.
…i know of no geet who dont ejoy a powerful woman…
I think it's more that geeks would "enjoy" any kind of woman they can get. 😀
…but i do know someone who likes powerful women who isnt a geek…
I'd hope that more of you considered this a description of yourselves.
And besides whats a geek… there are just as many of us here on this or any other star treck/wars, transformer, x-men or any other fantasy board…
I'm beginning to think a geek is someone who cannot fit into a social situation that is not related to being a zealous fan of something not popular in the mainstream. So you may not be a geek because you like X, but if you can only have a meaningful, adult conversation with someone about X, then you are a geek. Admittedly, the gaps between what is "mainstream" and what isn't are steadily closing, if not already completely obliterated (and you can blame commercialism for that).
