Thanks for the positive feedback everyone  😎
Actually, yes, the background is a photograph of somewhere in the vicinity of where I live.  Heh, unfortunately that doesn't narrow it down a lot, because there were a lot of misguided attempts to plant pine trees in an environment that doesn't support them throughout this city.

I's do think that it reminds I of places around Canberra, before those terrible bushfires destroyed all of their pine forests.

And it is a strange habit of Australians to plant such trees as pines in realms that cannot truly support them.
No matter. For such is all human nature.

    Peace

    Hi Bass!

According to PNB, I'm the second Aussie girl here, after you. Nice to meet you!

Wow, you do all your lineart in Illustrator, that's commendable. Is it because you prefer to outline with a mouse? I particularly liked the linework of this one: http://www.deviantart.com/view/19588482/ because it has weight (good choice for your avatar *lol*).

Do you also colour in Illustrator? I really can't tell. I would've guessed you coloured in Photoshop, but I've seen some amazing illustration stuff done in Illustrator by reeeeeally patient people, so I won't have a heartattack if you said yes.

No, the photo was taken on the western side of this country.  But I would have been extremely shocked and surprised if you were able to tell one crop of pine trees apart from another.  As for the forrest fires, meh, no big loss.  The native flaura should be able to recover, and the foreign weeds all get killed!  Heh, win win!

Hi mikazuki.  Heh, nice to see another Aussie girl around here :D.

Yeah, I do all my lineart in Illustrator.  I draw using a graphics tablet, but I actually prefer using Illustrator because I can constantly tweak and adjust my lineart till I'm happy with it, or so sick with that I just want it done!!  That picture took a long time, and a lot of effort.  I probably wouldn't want to spend that much time on another picture.  Most of what I do is just scribbles for fun, and practise maybe.

That picture was coloured in Photoshop.  Everything from my Josie picture onwards was coloured in Illustrator.  The Josie picture didn't turn out that well IMO, but I think I've gotten the hang of it 😀  The best bit is I don't think anyone would have been able to tell I coloured my latest in Illustrator if I didn't tell anyone :p.

Aha, you've obviously mastered the Blending tool *bravo* If only Illustrator had some sort of line weight/taper feature. Oh well. I enjoy seeing how artists can be creative with the tools, and reaffirm the saying that it's not the tools that make good art, but skill.

It does, but only when using a tablet.  It measures the pressure you apply.  I probably haven't been using it effectively enough.

Hey, I've been drawing stuff on and off for a while now :p  I've done 6 in the past month, they're just not FMG oucs, except two.

Edit:  What are the other two?

Actually, I's could tell the location of your living by the lighting in the photo and the ground covering.
'Tis merely I's have spent more time in the Canberra pine forests than I's have in any of the Western Australian (more particularally the Perth forest).

And the bushfires were a great lost, because not only did the flames destroy everything in the pine forests but the pine trees corrupted the soil so much that nothing native can grow back. So the local government have decided to replant pine trees again because the soil takes too long to regenerate for the native plants and they need a good 'cash crop' (so to speak) ready in a few years time.

So, yet again, it appears that only the ACT government wins again.

    But enough of such talk.
I's eagerly look forward to your next work, dear Bass.

    I can't tell you the other two…
They're strangely not that difficult to achieve.
    But let's just say Davic C. Matthews should never walk into a Wendy's and get the baked potato instead of fries with his meal. O_o;

Hmmm, are their baked potatoes 'that' bad?  Is the third one mixing cheese in with your instant ramen noodles?
