Ok, I wasn’t going to say anything, because it would derail this thread, which is about the artists that Ashlee can find who make really nice pictures of muscular girls and women, but really…

That is just a smorgasbord of different things being conflated with each other there, and on the whole I’m sorry, it’s just a crock of bullshit. And I’m hardly surprised you have people chiming in with agreement, because America has long since lost the habit of critical and conscientious thought.

Let me just deal with that, in order.

1) China undermining America — hello? Any more so than rival countries try to undermine each other regularly in the arena of geopolitics? btw, “rival” doesn’t mean “enemy”, you know.

2) China helping bin Laden — ok, this is now just plain paranoia and ludicrousness. Btw, are you aware that China has substantial investments in US assets (your much vaunted Treasury bonds, as well as others) and has a vested interest in seeing the US stay relatively strong and stable? Granted, China doesn’t actually need you guys to live, but the collapse of the US would create a shockwave no one really wants.

3) Muslim dissent in the border regions of China — Several things here. Firstly, the Muslim world is not homogenuous, bin Laden doesn’t have any demonstrable influence with the disaffected people of Xinjiang. Secondly, the dissent is not based on Muslim grounds, but on ethnic and nationalistic ones, bin Laden can NOT stir up any significant dissent by waving the metaphorical (and also non-existent) pan-Islamic flag at them.

4) Lack of access to Youtube — my heart goes out to 7legend on this one, but have you kept up at all with current affairs? You are surely aware, since this qualifies somewhat as an event that happened in your own country, that Google’s dealings in China have fallen through and they’ve pulled out. Youtube belongs to Google, another thing of which you’re surely aware. This has nothing to do with any anti-American sentiment, this is just Chinese internet censorship, which has nothing to do with undermining the US, and nothing to do with supposedly supporting terrorism, just with wrongheaded government policies for which time is slowly running out. You may not know this, being ignorant Americans who don’t know about anything outside your own borders, but China has a tremendously active online citizenship, and the CCCP’s days are numbered, however long it will take.

5) Inferior products — yes that’s been a joke for decades, even amongst us Asians, but it’s becoming an increasingly dated joke. Some of my major suppliers are Chinese companies whom I have picked over their Indian counterparts precisely because they exhibit good service, good quality control for product, and excellent prices. There’s a reason, you know, despite your little barbed jokes from the side, why “Made in China” is so ubiquitous. As for “Made in America”, I would never, never base a business around that. High costs, high duties, doubtful quality, zero customer service… nah, I’ll give that a miss, thanks.

I’m sure you believed all that with all your heart, Ashlee (except the 5th point which is separate), but at some point, you Americans have got to start using your heads as well.

Lingster can do whatever he wishes as moderator, but in the meantime if you have any apology to issue for your very unseemly and unjustified address towards me I’ll be glad to accept them in private. Otherwise, you could very well choose to continue reinforcing the image you currently portray in your person, of you Americans being thin-skinned, willfully ignorant, foul-mouthed, closed-minded, borderline illiterate and blindly prejudiced individuals.
