Where and when were you born: 27/6/1970; Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, FloridaWhat is your profession: I am an owner of a gymnastics facility, where I am also an instructor.
Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? YES. I was a gymnast. Seeing other female body builders intrigued me, and also my competitive gymnastics career came to an end.
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning, or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? YES!
Can you give me your competition history:
2000 Overall Palm City Champion
2000 Overall Junior Florida Champion
2000 Overall Southeastern USA Champion
2001 Overall Miss Florida
2001 15th Place Nationals – Heavyweight
2002 12th Place USA – Heavyweight
2002 9th Place Nationals – Middleweight
2003 4th Place Nationals – Middleweight
2005 9th Place USA – Light Heavyweight
2005 6th place Nationals – Heavyweight
2005 2nd place Nationals – Heavyweight
2006 2nd place Nationals – HeavyweightWhich contest has been your biggest success; Which has had the most meaning to you.
2006 2nd Place Nationals – HeavyweightPlease tell me something about your training routine:
TRAINING: 5 days on 2 days off;
CARDIO: Doesn’t begin until 9 weeks out; Starting at 20 minutes and eventually doing split: 60 min. AM 60 min. PM; Training routine never changes.What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one do you not like so much?
Like: Shoulder press
Dislike: Any biceps movementWhich body part is Best in your opinion: My back and shoulders
STATS: Lifts: Flat bench press: 225 lbs for 10; 315 squat for 10; Flat Dumbell press 80 lbs; Dead Lifts 315 lbs at the end of back workout;
-My husband and I don’t get wrapped up in numbers; His philosophy is that the mirror tells all. We’ve never gotten into scales, body weight, or even poundages in the gym. In the future, this is something we could possibly supply you with, but right now, my symmetry; overall muscularity; and feminity tells all. And in my husbands words: “We possess not only muscle but the epitome of what a female body builder should be.”What do you enjoy about training for a competition: I Like to see changes in body.
Offseason: I love Eating whatever I want!!Describe a Typical Day in the life of Bev: I get up in AM; then I get my three kids prepared for school. I meet my husband at the gym for workout, and then we go to lunch. The work day then begins when we go to our gymnastics/fitness/nutrition center. I do the gymnastics instruction, and my husband does the fitness/nutrition
What do I do when I am not working out: I enjoy relaxing at home with my family, watching movies, and going out to ride on our four wheelers. I love to pig out!
What do I enjoy most about the body building/fitness lifestyle: The Attention; Also, it sets you apart from the average person; It also does wonders for your self esteem.
Tell me something interesting about myself that people may be surprised to hear: Some people think that I am intimidating because of my size, but surprisingly my largest clientele are young children. And in their eyes, I am just Mrs. Bev . It makes me feel good that I can have such an impact on the structure, socialization, and goals of our young society.
What are your competition goals or personal future goals: My profession goals is to get my Pro Card; Also, this year I will begin with USA and go from there.
