The lack of sponsors is what killed the sport. ESPN and other sports networks used to cover it with shows on weekly. That coverage went away. The sport was new….a novelty, so it did have that advantage at first. You can argue whether roids killed it or not, but are fitness women making a great sum of money? I think not.
