This was always my favourite Animorphs book, as the front cover fascinated me as a kid. Can you see why?

I may have posted this before, but I figure there are enough new members here that this will be new to them, at least…

The year was 1979, and when I saw this book on the stands I had to snap it up! It was one of the few instances of a woman (outside of bodybuilding) portrayed as muscular.

And a nice closeup of my favorite part of the cover:

Some of my favorite book covers were the “Chicks” anthologies. They were collections of short stories about strong women. They had titles like “Chicks in the Mail” or “Chicks ‘N Chained Male”. I have most of them but they are still packed up from my move into my new house, or I’d scan a couple.

That’s just the first book in the series. Ultimately, I think there were 5 or 6 and the titles became more playful, usually a bad pun, like the 2 I listed.
