    Tall in stature, both men and women, was not an uncommon feature amongst the Kelts/Celts of Gaul (later France) and Britain.
    Some even went into battle completely nude covered in blue war paint.

    One of the reasons, probably the primary one, the Romans had it in for the Kelts/Celts is that early-on in the history of the city, the tribes north of the Alps came south and sacked Rome, which they never forgot. Added into that, later on, they were the allies of Hannibal, which certainly only increased the Roman mindset that the only good Kelt/Celt was a conquered one.
