According to Variety, Brie Larson is in negotiations to play Captain Marvel.

She’s even skinnier than Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Thrrrpt!
(Sorry about the typo in the title. Didn’t catch it before I hit post)

June 3, 2016 at 12:59 am #130444oriander2000ParticipantWell, they have the excuse that MM ‘s powers are alien / technological / magical, er…well, not physical.
At least she’s pretty cute.
This is something that I wanted to write since the Wonder Woman Casting thread: what if, instead of choosing a skinny woman, making her lift the pinkies and greenies for 3 months, and try to convince the rest of the not-blind universe she now looks like a superheroine, they take the opposite approach? I mean, pick a regular-sized or a-little-bigger-than-regular-sized actress, and put her on a serious diet and training regime? Which actress would say no to this? If they don’t want the “residual” muscle later, they could always keep their new shape. Granted, it would take more time to achieve, but it would take less time to try to put up excuses and photoshop their “now-super-ripped” stars. And I don’t mean Melissa Mc Carthy big, I’m talking about Kat Dennings, or Kate Hudson in Titanic big. Women with good bone structure. According to TvTropes, this body type is (sarcastically) called Hollywood Pudgy.
All of us who wander through these types of forums, know it can be done. we’ve seen slightly overweight ladies turn into more than athletic in a matter of months, and yes, I’m aware many times drugs are involved, but if “time” is the word here…more times, less drugs involved perhaps?
Just wondering.
June 3, 2016 at 5:20 am #130446BodybyBaneParticipantafter several other casting choices that Marvel/DC has made,..
I’m neither shocked nor surprised
Only really, really, really, really disappointed
P.S.
Kate Winslet is the rather short actress from titanic who possesses the hips to be Ms.Marvel
whereas Kate Hudson has the height, attitude & hair but no weightJune 3, 2016 at 6:51 am #130456BodybyBaneParticipantBrie Larson has never even heard of Ms.Marvel or Capt.Marvel!!!
http://comicbook.com/2016/06/02/brie-larsons-unusual-reaction-to-being-asked-about-playing-capta/why,…HOW??,..is this waif beating katee Sackhoff to be this iconic legendary character ??
June 3, 2016 at 7:38 am #130457HolidayParticipantIf anyone is curious, there are women in the Air Force who have competed in fitness and bodybuilding. If you want an ideal standard to compare with then look up women like Jasmine Spruill and Pam Wilson.
June 6, 2016 at 7:36 pm #130525BodybyBaneParticipantI have been to a bodybuilding show for the Armed Forces
Somebody needs to take Marvel’s Kevin Feige&Jeph Leob to a bodybuilding show for Armed Forces
with all this Brie Larson talkJune 25, 2016 at 11:32 pm #130845Nick FurryParticipantSome background info on her:
