They are both the same height and he is a highschool senior. Cuban I would imagine is a smart enough guy to know the facts. So the only conclusion is that he is doing this for hype and I hope she is smart enough or that those who surround her are smart enough not to pursue this as she will highly sought after in the wnba. It makes me sad that Cuban would willfully do this (unless he is sincere).
Would Cuban do it?
Absolutely. Don’t forget that he’s absolutely *insane*, and is willing to throw away hundreds of thousands to NBA fines to make a point.
(There’s a reason MLB refused to let him buy the Cubs. That made me sad.)

Cuban would have been awesome in MLB but no way the owners would let him in the “club”. Would Cuban actually draft Griner? Why not! 2nd Round NBA Draft picks are a longshot to make the team as is, they don’t have guaranteed deals and the publicity value alone would be worth its weight in Gold. Cuban is a smart guy. He went on DWTS so he could expose himself – and the team – to a new audience. Bluehaired Grandmas who had no idea who Cuban was now know him from being on DWTS just like Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice are known more by most older women for being on DWTS as opposed to being the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and greatest WR ever (in order). How much publicity did Cuban get the day he was a “manager” at Dairy Queen.
Cuban wouldn’t be wasting a 2nd Round pick on Griner if he chose her because most 2nd Round picks are cut anyway. Think about how many Mavs’ jerseys would be sold with Griner’s name on it just from being drafted!
The Canadian women’s hockey team prepares for the Olympics by playing 30 games vs 16-17 year old boy’s teams.
