With the selection of the International Committee on Climate Change and Al Gore, Jr., for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, President Bush has moved into the record book for most Peace Prizes awarded to Americans during their presidency.

His Presidency is tied with three others for most Americans winning the Award!

Read the whole thing – hilarious spin.

Hmmm, so it takes Shrub Bush to make Dull Gore shine, interesting.  😉  8)

Veeeery interesting indeed – then again, Pol Pot could have won a Peace Prize during the Shrub's presidency (ducks in anticipation of Lingster's barrage).

All you have to know about this cockamamie prize is that Yasser Arafat – who never renounced terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians – won it.

Given the criteria that seem to be in place for deciding these things, Pol Pot could have won a Nobel Peace Prize.

'Tis true; it's not the most deserving of the Nobels.

It's the prize given to the most popular person on the Left, and currently that's Dull Gore.

Whatever his shortcomings, Gore stands head and shoulders above the likes of the morally repugnant Jimmy Carter, Mohammed Al-Baradei, Kofi Annan and Yasser Arafat.  Given the apparent recent selection criteria, Al Gore is (along with most of humanity) morally over-qualified for a Nobel Peace Prize.

However, compared to people who really ought to be cited for their service to mankind (including recent Nobel Peace Prize winners Shirin Ibadi and Mumammad Yunus) like most of us Gore is simply unexceptional.

Also, I'm starting a Doris Lessing fan club:

When notified she's won the Nobel Prize for Literature, she says (I think), "Oh, crap" and waves her hand dismissively.

    What's Carter done?

    What's Carter done?

Lived his life.  He is narcissistic probably to a degree requiring clinical intervention.  For example, few people are aware that Carter came to the fore in Georgia politics as a reactionary segregationist (i.e. opposed to integration of, and equality between, whites and blacks).  He was elected to the governorship of Georgia by defeating two anti-segregationists.

Literally within hours of rising to the top of Georgia politics, Carter publicly reversed his segregationist beliefs in order to position himself to run for president.  So I doubt that Jimmy Carter believes in much more than Jimmy Carter, and he has spent the last 27 years attempting to get revenge on the people of the United States for throwing him out of office when he ran for a second term.

To get even with the U.S., he goes around giving aid and comfort to every anti-American dictator he can find.

Carter needs flattery the way you or I need oxygen.
