Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere –
Just finished reading (or, rather, listening to) Carl Hiassen's "Hoot", which is a surprisingly cute book, probably aimed at a younger audience than usual. One of the main characters is "Beatrice the Bear", a large, muscular and mostly mean-tempered soccer-girl, who likes to give boy bullies their just desserts. Nothing X-rated, of course (though nudity does come into play – sadly all male…), but it's a main point of the story, and done very naturally.
