Oh, please – don't flatter Star Wars with originality. Pretty much every element was lifted from old samurai movies, ANH has many parallels with The Fortress, I'm told… but yeah, Eragon wasn't particularly impressive as a film. Written by a guy at high school? Even if the book was 2-3 times better than the film (not hard) then it's pretty obvious. Still, it's presumably lining his pockets… so fair play to him.
Indeed, if I were in his shoes I wouldn't be caring too much about what people were saying about the movie, I'd be too busy counting the money.
Gah, don't get me started… and how the heck did this forum go from Casting Wonder Woman to the merits of Eragon the film? 😉
But seriously, I've written a good five or six novels, and my friends think that they're pretty darn good, and yet it angers me to no end when I hear about kids younger than me getting published…
And he also has the movie AND the videogame adaption to boot!
Grr…
I'm going back to Poser to work on my art and express my rage.
Hey Silent One – I like your signature – a bit near to the knuckle though, isn't it? ;D

Yes, it's starting to drift off course – please stick to the posted topic. Thank you. 😉
“I like a good story well told. That is the reason I am sometimes forced to tell them myself.”
~ Mark Twain / Samuel Clemens (1907)
Perhaps our speculation on the casting of Wonder Woman should be shelved… like the film itself.
To be honest, it's pretty amazing that relatively obscure titles – Hellboy, Constantine, Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher – have all made it to the screen before Wonder Woman… You'd have thought that Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash would be up there… presumably people are greedy or similar.
Well, there is a Wally West Flash film in the pipeline, with Ryan Reynolds attached to it. The guy who directed "Night at the Museum" has signed on.
With the exception of Hellboy, the rest of the films Prophet mentioned were rather tame. I'd rather wait for a good film, than have a tame film rushed out.

*shrug* I was staring at the blank sig space one day and that was what I typed in it. I was in an interesting mood at the mood at the time . . .
And to stay on topic . . . Has WW been officially shelved? I was under the impression it was still going to happen even though Wheedon has been detached from the project.
My understanding isat WW is still going ahead, although I'd rather see it scrapped rather than have some skeletal teenybopper in the role.
It hasn't been shelved per se but it's not got a writer or a director… not exactly indicative of progress. One rather gets the impression that Joss Whedon left because things just weren't going particularly well.
