Wow this thread certainly has staying power. 🙂
Well, as I mentioned 2 years ago, yesterday, — I still like either Katherine Heigl or Jessica Pare' to play Wonder Woman. (http://amaz0ns.com/option,com_smf/Itemid,135/topic,1101.msg7933/#msg7933)
Tschuss!

HunterI'll agree that getting an FBB to do stuff like this is a risk – then again, people might had to have taken risks with Cory Everson before, otherwise we wouldn't have had her a*** and legs in Double Impact, would we? My concerns with a normal "cute" actress is that, even if they buff-up slightly, they're still not as body-aware and poised as a physique athlete.

Yes-that's a better photo of her but the head shots I've seen she doesn't look 28.
I think the ship has sailed on Katherine Heigl as WW, too.

I still don't think she looks too old, though know that an FBB would never get the role in today's climate, even if they did have the acting ability. 🙁

Well, she has the height, but that's about it. Given how she let herself be pushed into things by that looney husband of hers, she's hardly the woman for the role. WW is supposed to be independant, isn't she? Not dominated by a little pr**k like Cruise.
August 17, 2007 at 9:02 pm #10515Silent OneParticipantAs much as I would agree that Katie Holmes isn't suited to the part (too waiflike) I think you're confusing her personal life with her ability to act. If someone could act the role and make me believe they were WW I could care less about the finer details of their life off the silver screen. Which is all just academic anyway since it seems like this project has the coffin lid firmly nailed in place.

All I meant is that a character called the Amazon Princess would, IMO, be incongrous coming from an actress who redefines them word "doormat".

LOL!
I can quite see your point, although I tend to agree with SilentOne in terms of what I expect from an actor/actress. I'll admit that I would like to see starlets that actually managed to be decent human beings, strong of character, et. al. and not just pretty, but so long as they can convey those traits on screen, I'm generally willing to let it slide. After all, we really don't want actors who portray villains to actually display those traits in reality (Hannibal Lecter, anyone?)
On the other hand, I would give my left nut (sorry, gross) to have Hollywood just once search out and find someone who could play a woman hero who actually looked like she could handle the role- and I'd be even happier (much, much happier) if they actually found someone who could act and went to the trouble of giving her decent direction. Is that too much to ask?!
August 18, 2007 at 10:47 pm #10518ChuckParticipantIf we get a steaming pile as bad as Elektra and Catwoman I will make a movie myself gosh darnit!
Please note I have no money and live in a basement and surf the web all day. lol, do not take me as seriously as Nicholas Cage and She-Hulk *slams Nicholas Cage upside the head*
