We always love a good rumor, and when one combines fan favorite Yvonne Strahovski (the amazing Sarah Walker on NBC’s Chuck) and The Avengers— well, we just couldn’t let it slip by.

Please, we do caution you to take all this with a grain (bucket, even) of salt, but one of the top Yvonne Stahovski fan sites, Strathotski, reports that a “Marvel Insider” (we just love the use of “insider”) has confirmed to them that the gorgeous Australian actress is soon to be cast as Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers.

Though it’s not often that we get the scoop on anything here, I’ve just received information from a protected source inside Marvel that points to Yvonne Strahovski being cast in the upcoming Avengers movie as Ms. Marvel.

Could it be true?

I, for one, have long hoped to see Yvonne crop up in a comic book movie. She’s got the action chops to easily pull it off and it was really just a matter of time before the right character came along.

Again—grain of salt, everyone —but if there’s any truth in this, we have to admit that we DO like the idea of Yvonne Strahovski playing Ms. Marvel in The Avengers (if the character’s even IN the movie) and think she would do a pretty great job as the Marvel heroine.

I think, that the most likely thing to happen is, that she plays only Carol Danvers. f Ms. Marvel is ever going to be in a movie, shouldn’t the first introduce Mar-Vell, the Kree, the Skrull, and all that for her character to make some kind of sense? If it is true, mauybe marvel is planning ahead, with they continuity thing in the movies.

However, if she is cast as Ms Marvel/Carol Dancers, the have my complete approval. I believe she looks perfect for the role (at least in hollywood’s bodytype).
