Hi all.
I was just looking on Metacafe, and lo and behold! the Amazon Princess herself has one of her recent posing videos there. So far, so good. Where it goes pear-shaped though, is when you get to the comments. They're so stereotypically anti-FBB, so predictable in their spluttering hatered that they could almost have been written by one of us as a spoof joke. Witness:http://www.metacafe.com/watch/332997/female_bodybuilder_cindy_phillips_posing_in_blue_top/
I hope that link works (sorry Lingster in case it doesn't).
In case it doesn't link, and just to give you a chance to witness the idiocy without even having to click on the link, here are some of the greatest hits :o:"Freakshow
3 U's.
Ugly Ugly and Ugly""She would have to pump an entire pharmacy into her body to look like that…at any age. "
My favourite, even though I can't understand what the guy's trying to say, is the following gem:
"Man, I wish you someone would stop ….
….. posting videos of these freaks. Not only physically disgusting, but can you imagine the psychological disaster of a woman that chooses to look like that? "I presume that the writer of that comment, one "zippy23 (a fan of "Rainbow", perchance, fellow UK members?) believes that young women are psychologically better-off trying to look like Kate Bosworth or Nicole Whatshername than Cindy ::). Whilst I'll agree that Cindy's incredible physique is partly due to fortunate genetics, it must be healthier for a young woman of 18 or 19 to build muscles and become fit and strong rather than starve herself to a shadow. I have a feeling that these commenters are scared that anything less than outright hatred of Cindy's physique is going to make their testicles drop off and their voices to go high.
We've got a long, long way to go to make female muscle acceptable, haven't we?December 17, 2006 at 2:30 am #44322AlexGKeymasterShe's also soliciting for votes over on her blog page ( http://cindyphillips.blogspot.com/ Thursday, December 14, 2006) for Champion Nutrition's 20andHot fitness contest.
Have to register in order to vote, tho. 😉

December 17, 2006 at 5:49 pm #44324AnonymousGuestCpbell0033944,
I noticed that your avatar is a stamp I made. I'm honored but it's not worth using if it doesn't animate.
December 17, 2006 at 8:55 pm #44325cpbell0033944ParticipantThanks DJ – I meant to ask you how to animate it – I'm still learning how to post to boards like this and I've never tried using an Avatar before. How can I get the full version, please?
December 17, 2006 at 10:13 pm #44326cpbell0033944ParticipantWhat I meant was – how can I set the animated version you so kindly provided as my avatar? I think it's very cool and would loveto use it. Thanks.
December 18, 2006 at 1:01 am #44327rachelParticipantCindy Phillips is absolutely beautiful and a true testament to what one can acheive in this sport.
Those posted comments on Metacafe are truly hurtful and I hope she never sees them.Rachel

Hi, I agree 100% with what you wrote. Those comments are inutterably rude, and, for my money suggest that the commenters are insecure themselves. This often seems to be the case – those who need to make themselves feel better often seem to do it by demeaning other people. I can accept that not everybody is "ready" mentally to see a muscular young woman like Cindy as our society teaches that women are supposed to be frail and delicate 🙁 >:( (although I can't agree with this, both because I love muscular women and because I am pro-feminist). However, to write what they have written is simply inexcusable. If Cindy or anyone who personally knows her happens to be reading this, then I am sorry that my posting this caused any upset, but I wanted to highlight the ignorance and prejudice that still surrounds female strength and bodybuilding. I think that Cindy is one of a handful of stunningly beautiful, inspirational and downright sexy FBBs and, as I've said before, I have a ten-years-too-late teenage crush on her (I'm old enough to know better ;D).December 23, 2006 at 5:11 pm #44329cpbell0033944ParticipantJust an update on the comments for this video – one brave guy (possibly a member here on Amaz0ns) dared to speak up and say that he found Cindy attractive. So guess what one of the Homo neanderthalis commenters wrote? Yep, that's right, the only cliched remark that hadn't appeared when I first wrote about this:
"If you find this attractive, you must be gay."
*Headdesk, headdesk*
>:( >:( ::) ::) :'( :'(
December 24, 2006 at 1:12 am #44330FettParticipantI don't even get the comment, "You must be gay."
Surely, if someone uses, with sincerity, homosexuality as an insult, then they are a *bigot* and thus, lower-down on the rungs of the ladder of society than *a gay man*.
Rather self-defeating.
