Sorry, no pics with this post, only a thoughtful, and insightful, post by Cindy.

    http://cindyphillips.blogspot.com/ (Tuesday, June 19, 2007)

Of which, has also triggered a commentary thread on Unrealmuscle . . .

    http://www.unrealmuscle.com/forum/index.php/topic,7812.0.html

I was actually so moved by her writing that I overcame my initial shyness (yes, I am naturally shy; it took me a long while to pluck up courage to post here, too) and posted a comment to her.  It's rare to find an FBB (anyone, in fact) who thinks that deeply at such a tender age.  I've long feared that she'd get caught-up in the drugs culture of the Pro circuit and wind-up like certain persons we know on here who've become more known for being steroid poster children than as maidens of muscle.  The problem is, the thought of her leaving BB altogether, and possibly letting that glorious physique slip is heartbreaking. :'(  I suggested in my response that perhaps Strongwoman competition might suit her better.  Any opinions?

I have never heard of a "Strongwoman" competition…sorry about that.  When I read Cindy's blog…I'm glad she's being true to her feelings.  However, even if she didn't want to be in any competitions, she shouldn't give up bodybuilding.  It's like me and cars (I LOVE CARS!)…if I spent years and years restoring an old classic to remarkable shape, why would I just say "the heck with it" and let it rust out?  Why would I neglect it?
I feel Cindy is starting to fall under the spell of "women are suppose to be without any muscle."  I've know of a woman who use to bodybuild, but wanted to give it up.  She kept the eating habits of a FBB, but her body is so skinny, she has nothing to show for it.
I hope she'll reconsider and continue body building…but the final decision is up to her.  After all, she has to do what makes her happy…
And lastly (sorry about the length), I've always heard of FBBs who "Juice"…but how in the world can you tell?  Not many FBBs seem to show much size difference, unless I'm just not aware.  Also, just cause it's a trend, doesn't mean she'd have to follow it.

For Strongwoman stuff, look-up women like Jill Mills, Shannon Hartnett (sp?) etc.  Sometimes it gets added-into the catch-all "Strongman" terms, especially where men and women compete together in seperate classes.  As for signs of 'roids, the following is as good a guide as any (as always, your mileage might vary):

    Squared, enlarged jaw

    Enlarged, sometimes bulbous nose

    Roughened skin

    Deepened, gravelly voice

    Increased libido

A tendency towards aggressiveness unlike normal character for the woman concerned.

Bodybuilding might be ignored, but ESPN and ESPN2 routinely cover the strong men and women competions under the title World's Strongest Man / Strongest Woman contests.  8)

I must admit my suggestion to Cindy was partly selfish – after all, who amongst us wouldn't want to see her competing against the gorgeous Kara Mann?
Oh, and Baditude – I'm glad to have been of some help. 😉

Personally, its my considered opinion, that even if she does drop out of the competition circuit, in all likelyhood she'll stick with bodybuilding as a lifestyle choice.  Besides, she can make far more money as a bbing model doing photo-ops, etc as a sideline income then anything that she can possible hope to achieve in a monetary return from the contest end of the sport.

And live a far healthier quality of life w/o having to succumb to the temptation of using any enhancement drugs.

Now with that said, some more of SuperCindy . . .  ;D  8)

Pity, the camera didn't happen to go lower . . . and au naturel.  😉

Man, someone offer her the role of Power Girl already. Good Lord! 😀

She's kind of short for it, but so is Sylvester Stalone. We would FIND a way to make it work.

There MUST be a way to make it work.  Is any other woman as perfect for the role?
