Not really a "debate".
It's one side with facts and one side flailing their arms and demanding their Magic Sky Daddy throw lightning at me.
Very funny, but I'm serious. This can only end in tears. ::)

Speaking of ending in tears, anybody read the latest at her blogspot, yet?
In addition to the bad news, there is a photo attached-
not my favorite, but hey- eye candy is eye-candy, no?March 20, 2009 at 6:49 pm #31400Trash BoatParticipantThat's a real shame that womens bodybuilding is so unpopulat. And due to the lack of interest, no media coverage and hence no sponsors…Hats off for every woman out there, trying to do their best despite of public contempt.
And Cindy's lovely as always.
March 21, 2009 at 2:53 am #31401ant1937ParticipantThe men are going to dry up too. I love the look, but why would a company give money during an awful recession to a steroid infested sport that has little following in terms of shows.
I love fbbs, but I don't get the surprise on her part about sponsors lacking. I'd be stunned if the mens sport even survives as it once was. Strength contests and appealing to fans who do like the sport is the way to go for people looking for income. It isn't going to come from sponsors…maybe ever. That would go with the mainstream accepting fbbs.
Don't forget they were brand new back in the late 80's and 90's when they had their run and that was before all our Olympians and baseball players were exposed as steroid frauds. Why in the world would any company want to back bbing right now? They are scaling back on mainstream sports like baseball and football, let alone bodybuilding. See the light, Cindy. The way to revenue if that is the goal is through fans who accept it and like it.
March 21, 2009 at 9:14 am #31402TC2ParticipantI'm personally never too interested in bodybuilding shows. I'm really not a big fan of women doing muscle poses unless it's for a muscle growth transformation video where their clothes start to rip. But that's just my personal opinion. However, I DO love watching those strongman competitions where they have to lift cars, tires, etc. I would immensely enjoy watching women do those competitions.

If someone gets hurt feelings over being wrong, well hell it's not my fault.March 21, 2009 at 1:10 pm #31404The RiddleParticipantThat is a sad story; but, as several have stated, who can really blame corporate sponsors from withdrawing from less-than-highly-profitable ventures? We're all struggling.
Now, if the FBBs of the world lose their primary means of competition, they could all just turn into trainers, and see which of them can get the most other women into the best possible shapes…that would be a wonderful evolution. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Let's all just hope that whatever you believe has spurred the universe to this point doesn't switch us with Earth-616; Thor'd kick all of our collective bums.

March 22, 2009 at 5:34 am #31407FettParticipantI have to say… judging from that last picture, I think Cindy's current training regime – whatever it entails – is messing up her appearance. Her cute face has been getting very masculine with poor complexion. It might not be steroids. It might be the diet. I don't care what it is, but I think something in her training is not agreeing with her body. :/
